I don't often find much at coinstar, but when I pass by, I look if I don't forget and rush by.
Today, passing by, I walked over and peered into the return bin and saw a lonely dark colored coin that appeared to be a cent.
Nothing else there, stuck my fingers in and pulled it and walked away. As I went out the door I looked at it, and wow, a wheatie.
So, after I got home I inspected it more closely, needed a lighted magnifier for my old eyes to make it out. It's a 1943-S. Well,
that's supposed to be steel, but this one looks coppery. Got the magnet, and..... it's steel with a brown patina.
Still unusual. I mostly find Canadian coins. Until I got out the magnet, I had visions of a miracle finding a copper 43-S. Fun for a minute.
