How do these compare to the more popular Garrett Carrot and Lecshe? Has anyone used them? ...or should I quit looking for a bargain and buy the trusted brands??

I have both a xpointer and yellow garrett AT PP...if you call around you may be able to get a garrett for near same price especially the non waterproof one....but my xpointer has never let me down .....dont know about diamond digger...ive seen at least one that broke...and never seen a broken lesche

They both look like good equipment. The xpointer feels good in your hand and it seems to be sensitive on targets.

Support history and reliability(shaky) have both been part of the history since introduction of both of these items.

I had one of the first generation x-pointers and like many, one of the battery contacts came loose. I was able to return it for a replacement from my supplier. The replacement works very well. I think they resolved the connector issues since then.

I have both the xpointer and diamond digger and love them both. Absolutely zero problems and im hard on the digger and often use it as a pry tool.
