Got out Saturday for a couple of hours at a school to get a clad fix and found a wheatie. I scratched it with my probe because I had no thought of finding a wheatie in a parking lot. I would have really been crying had it been a silver coin. Today I took my wife out and left her and her bicyle 20 miles from home and decided to hunt a park that was on a town map, but I had never seen it. Found the 56 there right out in the open with nothing masking it a few inches down. I found several coins that were 60s/70s era, so I bet this park has some silver. I had my small DD coil on and I was only digging rock solid, shallow signals, so I bet a day with the other coil, moving slow, and going deep could be productive. I had hit some of the big trees and some play equipment when I got the call from my wife she was in the next town and starting the final leg home, so I hit a few more quick spots and headed home to get the grill going. Nothing to get excited about, but I felt good for a change, got to swing, it was 74degrees and calm, I love it.

It was a beautiful day out today. I didn't get out though because of work.

You did much better than me today. Graduation party all day affair and great weather. I love wheaties as they tell you what you may find in the future on a site. Jim

Thanks for the kind words folks. I went back and hit it again with no luck on silver or wheats. I had my first 50 coin day, but no good ones. The first 7 coins I dug were from the 70's in the first 1.5 hours and thought I was on the trail, but it never did pan out. I did find out it was an oil field prior to being a park, and that explained the tons of iron in the ground. I did meet the cutest kid and his dad. He ran up all excited "are you treasure hunting?" He was in luck since I had just hit an area littered with coins. I gave him my pin pointer and I would locate the coin and let him use the pin pointer to find them with the help of his dad. It was crazy with coins in that area. His dad said said they have Easter egg hunts with coins in the plastic eggs, and the coins go a flying every Easter. He said the boy keeps everything he finds in a display at home, so the few nickles and hand full of pennies made him a lot happier than they would of made me! The excitement on his face was awesome!

That sounds like a great time, CB. I never knew detecting would attract so many kids. It's always fun when you can share treasure. :)
