Found it on a little fresh water beach in South central Florida today. Rang up at 45 on my XP ORX.

Nice and shiny, very lightweight.
What are the chances it's gold?

Well I am glad the scoop is not gold Tom. It is quite heavy and I would owe you a fortune!
The dental bridge just paid a visit to a pawn shop. Fellow says it is 9 karat, weighs 1.3 pennyweight (whatever that is) and is worth $20.
Worth a lot more than that to the poor soul who lost it.

While I was detecting two different people stopped to chat and each said there were two fellows who frequently pound the place.

I started out in knee deep water trying out the goofy Rube Goldberg kit Deus sells to let you submerse the XP DEUS coil. As there is no cable to the control head you have to employ a long wire antenna.

I got several signals but each time after a scoop they completely disappeared. Then I tried the dry sand and it seemed to be more of the same.

So I tossed the Deus into the car and grabbed the ORX. With that I found the dental bridge and a nickel.

I used a high frequency coil set to 54kz.
Don't know if that made any difference but it was fun to uncover some bling!

Only other gold I had found was a fat ring a year ago, a recovery for a friend so I could not keep it.

So what do I owe you Tom?!

45 on A Deus ll is a money number. Sure looks good. If you find grills in Florida as well you usually got either a Gold or Platinum. So far I have only found one fake one. And I've found a lot of them. Someone I detect with found two gold grills that were 14K in one hunt lost from two different people. The fake ones are copper and you can imagine how bad that tastes.

Dental assistant I talked to at my Dentist office said he once had his teeth capped in gold. Used 10k to be cheap. Said he found out why not to use 10K when his gold teeth started cracking.

In fact, gold teeth are not often made. They are mainly for those who are allergic to other materials. Gold is a hypoallergenic material.

He wasn't even giving you 50% value... 1.3 pennyweight is 2.02 grams valued at $55.05 for 10k at least you found yellow dental gold... no one wants my white dental gold that is 18k so it collects dust in a jar...

I think the 9 @ 10k is mostly used to chew soft peanut butter. If you want to chew harder nuts you go with a higher k gold it is softer and not subject to cracking as easy. It's called the nut scale for gold teeth.

That's a nice save, any gold makes the day in my book... I love finding gold Buckie's, first to go for melt. The lowest I have seen in purity is 7 k, highest 18k.
