Well, one last colonial hit before the end of the year. I will keep the text short, I know we're all here for photos. :D I got to put roughly 70 hours of coil to the ground with the group in the last week or so. We stuck out cold, dark, and rain and I took the lead for most finds but the other guys got some good ones too.

In the end for me 2 Virginia Half Pennies, 7 Large Cents, 1/2 reale, half of a 1 reale, 3 cut 2 reales, a holed and broken seated dime, a trime, 3 IHP, a mercury dime, and some slick coin. I also wound up with a 10k gold ring, 5 eagle buttons, 2 beautiful gold gilted buttons, a mound of flat buttons, CW bullets, lead weights and a few other odds and ends.

Key pieces from the guys an Eagle breast plate and a capped bust half dime. Also pulled was a seated half dollar, but we think its fake. Chime in if you can, its very corroded which lead us to believe its not the silver it should be.

As always, thanks for looking. Here's some pictures!

Ssshhheeesshhhh LOUISE ! Sick . And I especially hate the in-situ reveal pix . GGGRRrrrrr. :sissyfight:

Incredible finds! Wow that is some amazing stuff, not found out here in Montana. Congrats to all of you on those outstanding recoveries!

Thanks all for the comments! Hopefully we can get back on it next year!

Really nice. Is that a bag seal in the pic with the Minnie Balls?

Best we can figure is lead poker chip or attempt at a fake coin. We found a couple of lead coin and cob like shapes previously. This time out was the possible fake half dollar too. I also found what looks like a silver blank coin or token. This spot has several different generations of camps on it since it acted as a river source for a town nearby.

How much for the gold ring ? Is it size 11 or 12?
Congrats on all those goodies 👍

For now I'll be hanging onto it, sorry! The stone in the middle looks like resin or something. There's a red tint when you put a light to it, but it's corroded. I'll try to get a makers mark photo tomorrow, but it looks like there's a giant P next to the 10k and a name goes from the P under the 10k

I’ve heard of going through “hell and high water” to get it done…that one pic indeed looks like it is in hell! The best “cut” coins we have here have gone through a lawnmower, and they’re usually zinc! Just WOW man! What a pile of historical finds and to think… that’s just a tiny pinch of what’s out there. The guys who put in the effort and have the opportunity can really make this a great hobby, it looks like you’ve got both going on! Congrats on making it happen before winter buttons it up…

Holy smokes, that is a major haul..your soil sure I'd kind to those copper's..Those are all stellar finds, congrats

Thank you. It's pretty hit or miss if the soil kills them or not here, we do get a lot of rotten ones because of the minerals. The area we were in last had more sand and some clay. They come out looking like an awful clay block, but chipping away the clay block usually saves the details.

Haha thanks! I wanted to give an idea of how I see everything come out in the dark with my red light lol. The last night got me a cut 2reale right before heavy rain set in. Got so wet my rain jacket was soaking through. It let up though and let me get a couple buttons before we called it quits. I really appreciate the comments, helps keep us going. The adventure adds to the hunt for me!

This is absolutely unbelievable !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Most people detect their entire careers and dont end up with a collection like this ......
That truly is a field of dreams....I'd be in heaven digging there ......
Congrats on a super awesome hunt and recovering some real history.
