Church of the Mojave

I feel your angst. Kellyco is a very large dealer and simply can't match the personal involvement of other sponsors here. Local for local has been my leaning for many years.

Sometimes we want it now. I have probably bought 4 or 5 detectors from Kellyco over the last 25 years because my local shops either didn't have any or were not authorized dealers of whatever toy I wanted at the time.

They always came through. Including this latest Mojave thing. I was feeling a bit like you because it was late leaving the warehouse.
I hope you get your Mojave and that you enjoy it when it shows up.

I agree, the At Pro I just bought I picked up from a local company and got it for $502 new! Steal of a deal and still able to put money back into our local economy. The only thing that upsets me is it was a present for my girlfriend and she's wanting to try it out this weekend, she even took the weekend off so we could hit it hard. Maybe Kellyco will pull a rabbit out of their hat but I'm not really looking for it. They just happened to be the only one's I saw with the Mojave in stock so they got the business, to bad for me it was the old bait and switch.

A lot of times companies will show something in stock and when you go and place your order they'll tell you that it has to be back ordered or you'll get a message later on after you placed your order that it's out of stock and it should be here in a few days. They do this in hopes that you'll agree to the back order and not go and buy from someone else. That's bad business.

Situations like this eBay may be worth a look. Often times those same dealers or even forum sponsors sell on eBay. The price is the same and you are also protected. It wouldn't be on there if it wasn't ready to go and eBay feedback tends to be important to sellers and buyers alike.

The problem is they didn't even send me a message, as of now it still shows in stock and I wouldn't have known unless I called. The operator told me "well it shows it's on back order" and I was like maybe on your computer but the one I'm looking at it still shows that yall have it in stock. I agree man it's bad business. Either way when it shows up I'll bet she'll be more than happy with it and I'll bet I even end up getting one for myself! I have a couple of places where my Garrets are choking because so much iron and I'll bet this puppy does the trick there!

We shall all find out, my little Mojave Indian is still chugging thru the mountains on its northward trek to my house.

I had the same experience with them ordering some accessories.
Didn't get any info until I inquired a week later.
The order was filled and it all worked out in the end.
It definitely took them off my list for future purchases though.

I got home from the Philippines this week. My Mojave was at my sisters house waiting for me. I have it ready to hunt, but it turned dang cold here. Might know. I will get out when it warms up a little. I think this is going to be a killer detector. Everyone enjoy your new Mojave. I know I will.. KEN

Still haven't heard a word from Kellyco. Maybe they'll ship it in the next week or so. They also haven't refunded the money like they said for the 3 day shipping.

I feel for ya, even though mine came yesterday, low 20's windchill today. Tomorrow may not be much better.

I had started selling personal items to save up for a DEUS, but then the Mojave came out and I was tempted to buy one of them for the time being. Due to losing my job after Xmas I won't be able to even get the Mojave for a while now. Unfortunately the money I was saving has been steadily going towards bills, food, and gas...I did splurge on a new coil for my silver sabre, but it's not scratching my Mojave itch. It will be a while before I can get one of them. In the mean time, keep posting your reports on it.

my Mojave found these today:

Out for about three hours with the Mojave today, in a spot I hadn't done before. So nice out there, even if I didn't find anything I'd be wanting to go back again. Turns out it was a pretty good location, too. Got the usual pulltabs, shotgun shells, bullet brass and lead, a couple of keys, about $3.25 in clad...and a '36 quarter, 925 earring and 10K gold bracelet. Bracelet weighs in at 16 grams, BTW.
Not bad for a nice day out in the fresh air and sunshine. :sun:
Wasn't too trashy there and not much mineralization or hot rocks, either. Thinking I may try my big concentric on the Mojave, and see how it does (the old 10-1/2" donut). Maybe I'll find some deep silver...

Congratulations man! Hopefully we'll be pulling some stuff like that from the ground here soon! Was that in a park? That's a heck of a haul.

Just about paid for the Mojave in one hunt! NICE finds!
EDIT: Just checked, you DID pay for your Mojave in one hunt ...and then some:yes:

The Tesoro Mojave. Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Nice finds Pinenut.:whoohoo:

I too, was hiking in the hills... ;)

Not in a park...found amongst the pines.
Most likely all was left there by snow dummies. :snowflake:

Thanks everyone!

Thanks! Mojave is a workhorse!

That sure is a beautiful gold bracelet! I know you're super happy about finding it!

Went back there today and found a little kid's bead bracelet with a tiny religious charm (looks like plated copper), more of the usual bullet & shotgun shells, tabs, etc., about another $3 in clad, and...a little silver '64 Rosie. Always makes me smile when I dig up silver, even little silver. :sun:

Nothing worse than having a Mojave and not being able to try it out.

I've had it 3 days now but the weather has turned for the worse, if not for the cold temps, its the wind, if not the wind, its the ground re-froze.

Silver always brings a smile. :D

At least you got out to hunt today, the weather is horrible, a overnight low of 1 degrees for tonight, don't see myself getting out tomorrow either.:(
