Cell phones

What I don't understand is how these women, especially younger ones can type so fast just using their thumbs.
It's especially impressive considering how small the keyboard is.

For me, trying to type out stuff on that tiny keyboard was very frustrating. Then I found out about Talk To Text. I can now message much faster than even using a full size keyboard.

I answered her call, and she began yapping about something on and on and on. What is really going on is your wife is talking about something you could care less about hearing. It is a married thing. And on the flip side when I talk about metal detecting, my LP collection, she just half listens (if that) to what I am saying. First six months of marriage, everything your spouse says, you just think is wonderful.
How about when she's rambling on about some nonsense and you're like , c'mon hurry up and finish. And just as you turn to leave the room....she launches into another diatribe ! You're looking around for someone to save you...🤣🤣🤣

I ummm ...agree. But I would never think like that ... :shifty:

It's crazy alright. It must be inherent or something, lol.

No, I do dress appropriately for metal detecting in the woods! Just want to be left alone when I'm out and not worry about the time. No food or water keeps my gear light and forces me to eventually quit! If I brought food and water while detecting, I'd never leave the woods until dark!

How about when women feel the need to tell you about a dream they had the previous night? Wouldn't be so bad if some of them were R-rated, but they never are! "I had a dream that I was walking through the forest when I came upon a baby deer and it was so adorable!" Please shoot me now and stop my suffering! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Do you take your phone with you when you go out detecting? If you do---do you put it in airplane mode or turn it of
It's according to where I'm at. MAJORITY of the time, it stays in the truck. I want away from that thing. The only noise I want to hear is my detector.

For me, it's distracting, gets in the way and something else to keep up with. How many lanyards can I put on my belt?

If your by yourself, with security concerns or possible important events are likely where your needed, I would get a small flip phone and keep in a zippered pocket of a pouch. I could keep it on vibrate and still ignore it.

Now where is that high tone.....

I always take my phone with me. I run Tect O Trak to log my hunts when not using my CTX3030. In 13 years of detecting with 9 different machines I have only had issues with 1 machine and "possible" EMI. That was way back in 2011 with my ACE250 and only on one hunt so probably NOT cel phone EMI.
