Has anyone ever wrap black electrical tape about 5 or 6 places up the shaft to hold the cord against the shaft.??? I never liked that loose wrap you get from those velcro strips. Let me know please and pics of yours if you do that...Thanks

I bought wider Velcro bands at Menards. They hold much better than those skinny ribbons that come with the coil.

The tape is not a bad idea if you have a dedicated shaft for the coil.

Yes, for about 15 years and all I do is water hunt. I owned an original Doc's CF shaft. I recommend sticking the last 1/2 down with a little super glue!!!!

Silicone tape works better than electrical and it won't leave behind a residue.

I agree with the residue left by tape. Plastic cable ties will work just fine and if you don't cinch them down too much they will still allow some slide so you can collapse the shaft. Good part is if you don't like them they cut off real easy.
