Cabin Fever - 15X17 NEL BIG for the AT-PRO - Air testing data

Heh heh, I hope you're right! I spent some time reading forums from Australia and the UK where folks have been using these coils since last April-May.

Sounded like the first units were a bit rocky and a few folks had to mail theirs back to NEL, but by late June all the bugs were out and the reviews were consistently favorable.

Sounds like 4 inches of added depth was average with some conditions allowing much more than that. Even just an added 3 inches is a huge advantage in water hunting.

I can't wait to get it wet! :D

Wow, I just might have to pick up one of those babies myself! That would bring a lot of sites back to life. It's really cold and snowy over here too. 12 inches of snow Monday. Yay.

Agreed. After talking with Ronnie at Gold Diggers, the biggest thing to consider is ground balancing. There is so much real estate underneath the coil that a normal ground balance with the ATP may not be enough. He suggested to first knock the sensitivity down to around 2 notches on the screen and pump out the ground balance. Let it settle in and then raise the sensitivity back up to normal or even full sensitivity depending on your ground. I've tried this in my dirt driveway and it's been super quiet. (No chatter...) And I'm locating targets 8 - 10+ deep. Stuff I didn't even know was there... So, I'm patiently waiting for mother nature to turn the heat on. Our ground is still like concrete.

We were expected to get 10" and then it moved south and we didn't even get a flurry

Awesome tip I appreciate it!

Has anyone tried it with the gizmo to see if the weight can be balanced out more?

So, I MacGyvered my own "Swingy-Dingy Thingy" today out of an old computer bag shoulder harness and some other parts I had lying around. Broke out a needle and thread and went to town. I need to refine the release clip on the ATP handle, probably with velcro strapping but other than that I think it came out pretty good. Super comfortable for me with a quick release clip along with adjustability in the shoulder harness. Takes enough weight off so that all I'm doing is directing the swing with my index finger and thumb. (Think about how your hand grips the handle....)

BTW -Don't dog on my sewing! lol...;)

Irons,
Nice, great job!
Just to clarify, that wan't my article. I found it on NEL's facebook page and thought I'd just repost.

Hacked a dead weedwacker today and came up with this... Needs tweaking but this feels like it's weightless. Only problem now is how do I haul my shovel around? lol...

I'm still waiting for the snow & ice to melt up here...

Holy cow! :holycow:
I hear Harley makes a V-twin for that thing. What kind of gas milage does it get and does it come with a cup holder?

That At pro just went Red neck! That's flipping awesome. I have a weed whip with those bars on it, now I just need a monster coil!

I know it looks ridiculous but it really is comfortable. I'll tweak the mount further this week and shoot a demo video.

Painted it black and changed the grips. Hopefully it takes the ghetto redneck feel away. lol...

Add a couple wheels and I think you have a winner!

On the shoulder strap version:I think attaching a Bungee/Elastic between the shoulder strap and the detector would let you swing a little more naturally. Kinda like a single point rifle sling.
