Button identification.

Happy new year swingers! I am new to the group and am enjoying reading the posts. Still no snow or frost in RI so did some digging yesterday. Found this old button I am trying to ID with no luck. On the back Scoval Man co Waterbury.

Looked at both Grand Army of Republic Reunion buttons and Chancey Halls online, though haven't seen anything exactly like this, inclined to agree with some it's a Chauncey Hall staff uniform button (gold gilt and long 'c' version). If anyone can find a closer match, please post. Closest I've seen to the pic above is - https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/chauncy-hall-school-staff-uniform-195902640

Thanks for all the feedback. The button was dug about 40 yards from a 1830 one room schoolhouse on the RI - Conn border. I dig a lot of colonial buttons but this is my first uniform button,
