Congrats! Found my first Half Dime about 3 weeks ago, so so tiny! Pictures really dont convey how small and thin they are. Found mine with a HF coil on the Deus.

Thanks all! The site is known for a large old resort that saw lots of people between early 1800's to early 1900's. We thought we had found ruins for the hotel (which are still there) but they were just old homes. I have since spoke with a gentleman who wrote a book about the area in it's hay day and now i know where all the activity and foot traffic really were. There has to be more amazing targets around, considering where I found this was technically just a random spot in the woods. No telling what is actually at the site. A video of this coin has been posted if anyone wants to see how girly I get over finding it haha. Happy Hunting everyone.

Congratulations Dan. That is one of the older coins I have seen pulled from that area. I've seen several seated, quite a few barbers and large cents come out of that area. Years ago quite a few of us (fellow detectorists) would meet at the BBQ restaurant down there for lunch and spend the rest of the day detecting. This time of the year is a challenge with ticks and snakes...plenty of rattlesnakes. When late fall and winter come back around give me a shout and I'll take you to some of the areas we hunted. Congrats again on a beautiful coin!
