Thanks Mark......my last three hunts have netted less than $10. Both my Coinstar finds and the money from empties are greater than my detecting finds this year......so far.Sounds like a good return on investment of time, my last three hunts have netted a total of $18.43 in clad. $39.00 is 390 bottles and cans at a dime per. Thanks for cleaning up planet earth.

Thanks Bill.....I'm hoping to get a few more at the next show which is in December. I'll only have a month to pick up empties but I should still be able to get enough of them to get a couple of more dimes at least.Well done my friend. You got some good-looking Barbers.
The coin show I go to is 42 miles from home and about a 45-50 minute ride so I don't mind the little bit of traveling. I stay there for one and a half to two hours browsing tables and disposing of whatever cash I have burning a hole in my pocket.I would love to go to some coin shows, but they are all way down state from us up here and not worth the trip. Every year there is a huge flea market/antique show in Midland Michigan that we go to from time to time and there's usually one building that has quite a few coin dealers. May have to go next summer and check it out once more.
I sell my scrap copper and brass that I dig up while detecting but don't bother with scrap aluminum because it takes anywhere from 25-45 cans to make a pound. Prices for scrap aluminum cans are somewhere between 40-70 cents per pound.I like it! I wish KY participated in that. We can only get scrap aluminum prices for cans, about 50 cents per lb as I recall.
There are gun & knife shows, which always has "coins for sale " everywhere around us, Gaylord, Houghton Lake, Cadillac, and everywhere in between, I used to go to around 5-6, close by every year, there has been some here in Grayling.I would love to go to some coin shows, but they are all way down state from us up here and not worth the trip. Thanks GroundSweeper......I save whatever copper or brass I dig up and take it to the local scrap dealer when I get enough to make it worthwhile.Super cool. Love that exchange! I just started saving copper I've been finding, because the lake bed had a lot of it. Chucking it into a bucket.
Love those coins, nice!
Good to know. I didn't know they had coins as well. ThanksThere are gun & knife shows, which always has "coins for sale " everywhere around us, Gaylord, Houghton Lake, Cadillac, and everywhere in between, I used to go to around 5-6, close by every year, there has been some here in Grayling.
Use the detector to find a little bit of silver and cash in the clad you dig to buy more silver.Great idea. I recently returned a metal detector and thought about just taking the cash and buying a bunch of old silver, to save me the time and effort. But alas I got another detector instead.
