I'm gonna chime in here and say that the factory one is ok but the dang head unit is prone to popping out of place. There are various after market configurations available address that. I will state uncategorically, do NOT buy one from detectingdoodads as they are cheap 3d printed crap and will break as evidenced by my gf and I both having that mount break within 8 months, and I am very careful with my gear. I contacted Don and he said he would replace hers when it broke 3 months in. 5 emails and 6 months since, he has yet to send anything and no longer replies to emails which seems to be his mode of operation after reading others' online comments about problems with his stuff.
I have not tried any of these yet, but you can go to thingiverse.com and there are several configurations there that can be 3d printed from the code they give you. Seems a big factor on any of the 3d printed items is what type of printing material is used, and how much infill percentage is done (ie air space vs solid construction).
