I could not resist, so I went back to one of my all time favorite sites with the large vacuum cleaner coil. This site is still good, I would of stayed longer but the wind was kicking up the nearby construction dust way too much.

Within about a 25' x 25' section I found all of these silvers. First came the Barber 1916 dime, followed by the 1941-D Merc and finishing off with the Sterling ring in that order. All of these finds were about 8" deep. That coil gave me that extra bit of depth that I needed today.

So with these two extra silvers my FTY total is now at #8. And only to mention, I have blown through the 4k quarter goal days ago..

Thanks for checking things out!

Thanks hoser! Is that tune still in your mind? Isn't that what they say, detecting is all about the fun and more. Those few extra silvers sure add some shine to those pics. Thanks again!

Congrats on silvers #7 & 8 and the very cool looking sterling ring John. And of course the clad, have you ever been skunked ? :?:  The larger coil seems to be earning its keep. I would love to dig some silver, been in somewhat of a slump lately and have yet to dig a Merc or Barber this year. Lack of permissions and the old parks being stingy have caused me to slow down here. Good luck on your return. Mark

Thanks Mark! Finding those silvers were a real treat from the usual. On good productive sites I like to follow-up with the large coil after I have cleaned out most of good and bad targets. In my case, I feel like the large coil will give me like 1/2" to 1" extra depth and in most cases that is all I need just like with these two silver coin recoveries. As you know, all those coils have their place and time for being utilized in the right conditions. But I have to say, the small coil is a killer too!

I have not gotten skunked in a long time but it does happened. If I hit a new location and it doesn't pay off like in 30 minutes I am out of there. Then I go to plan B or C. But I really try to seek out those more neglected, the more the better or the over-looked locations for whatever reasons. So far, this year, things are looking promising.

I'm sure in the very near of time, you'll be the conductor of the silver train once again. I look forward to your next posting thread of that continued success! John

Thanks metaladdict! For me is It is so much fun to find just about anything. Some times I have walked miles and then all of sudden in one small area the goodies show up. Thanks again! John

Thanks Woody! We have all amazing guys in our K State. Each one has their own specially of interest and the finds to show for it too. That's what ties us all together. Now I need to find my first gold ring for this year and believe me I'm trying on that representation part! :yes:Thanks again PA neighbor! John
