After a hectic few weeks moving house (closer to the beach of course!), I finally had time for a proper hunt. The weather is perfect as usual this time of year so I hit up one of my regular spots and was rewarded with 3 bits of gold. An 18ct ring 6.4g, 18ct stud 1.5g and a chain that'll be 9ct 2.5g. All were buried deep in a layer of heavy iron stone among rocks

That ring was a beauty underwater as I swished the sand away and I saw that golden circle!

Living closer was a lifestyle change for me on a few fronts, but getting some more detecting in was a key item I considered. I'm now 15 minutes from the beach, maybe less without traffic in the early morning.
