"AXIOM"...Garrett's New Release

You don’t know.
How about this.
If we apply your logic here to the Legend how much would it have cost? Based on Anfibio multi price before Legend release.
Yeah.

They could reduce price of ATX for one. Might even discontinue it.

I may pick up one of these. I like the weight. ATX too heavy.

I posted the comment in response to what someone else posted.
What this other person posted was basically garbage. Making an insinuation with 0 evidence.
My comment is based on some evidence at the very least.

This is what I posted as a possibility but not based on any evidence according to tnsharpshooter of course.

"Price is not set yet. Somewhere between $2500 and $4000 judging from the current price of their ATX."

Whose answer was "garbage".........?????

Minimum Advertised Price set by Garrett is $3995

Personally I wish the price was $747 or $2000 but in the gold prospecting detector market, those prices are not realistic by market standards. That would give the impressions that the Axiom is not competitive with the standards set by Minelab. So the price set by Garrett is clearly saying that the Axiom is for real.

And you were wrong. $4700 retail is more than $4000 retail.
Golly gee.

Still thinking about buying one?

Not at that price. I like the weight and simplicity of menu setup. But too much for what I would use it for. A used gpx cheaper. Granted heavier. But I wouldn't use a great deal. At that price though the detector must be a great performer.
Using the gpx I had I always thought I was tied in knots with cables. This unit seems better setup. Battery on gpx that system stinks.

mmmm

Good luck to Garrett getting that price , even the minimum , not a nugget hunter , I am a Beach / Water hunter , and this machine falls short on Beach / water hunting needed requirements , so that being said , if not under 2k Im out , I dought Garrett will even dent , in a locked down ML prospecting market , they will have to prove the machine - at 4k up , if the machine cuts the mustard in the nugget field , a lot of money to pan out :gettinmoney: , if it falls short to ML machines . A NOTE to Garrett CEO , I was interested in this machine for beach / waterhunting , however were it falls short in my opinion is : #1 Needs to be waterproof at least to 3 metors , #2 Need more coil options - besides solid dd coils for water , and wet salt beach hunting , #3 Depth better than Fisher AQ Limited on Gold, Plat., Silver . If true , I give it a plus on Battery life , and with the dd coil ability to tell Iron from the above listed , # 4 I hope the telescoping CF shaft has quick adjustment shaft hold lock downs , no allen wrench needed , just like the ML -CTX .

The Minelab GPZ 7000 MSRP is around $8,500 right? Don't know why we would be surprised to see Garrett looking for $4,700. If it can compete with Minelab, then not a bad price.

I still am happy to see Garrett working with PI and new features. Hoping a PI discrimination unit is not far away.

Why all the bickering? This happens every time Minelab, Garrett, Nokta Makro or anyone else releases a new product. The same cycle. Are some of these proxy comments from other dealers, companies or people who feel threatened with what they are currently using? It's a specialized unite who's strength is in searching for gold nuggets. Not coins, not relics not jewelry. It was researched, designed, produced and soon to be released and be competitive by a "MADE IN USA" manufacturer with 55 years experience of producing metal detectors, hundreds of patents, still the same company, never been sold nor gone bankrupt.

New model released causes folks here to act, let’s see - strange.
Don’t know why.
No one is twisting anyone’s arm to buy new releases.
Glad to see Garrett release something new. Besides camo.

You must be quoting yourself. Or some thing.
I said what I said. And seems is true.
Or you missed the all important word MAY I used above.

the Axiom May cut into their market share some.
Time will tell. And performance of Axiom undoubtably will be a factor.

So you deny making this statement concerning Axiom cutting into market share?

What!!??? Now it's price is $4000!!!! Good luck with that.
I'm out with Surfmaster, Forget about it!!!
:lol::lol::lol::lol:
Only the High Roller gold detectorists will buy it.

Happens every time the shills show up. One day and it's the best thing since sliced bread?
Is that what the duck dudes, the hoover dudes, and king george and ringy dude will be saying? Good luck!

Here’s what I said below. See post #51 this thread. I said it may. Not will.
You understand what the word may means?
Google it.

Yep. And Minelab for all practical purposes has owned monster lion market share of pi detector’s used by folks seeking gold nuggets.

Past history = Want to find gold nuggets = Minelab.
Good place to be in, right? For a manufacturer.

Just facts. I am not a Minelab shill.

Sorta like all other manufacturers set back and let Garrett have the only AT VLF waterproof detector. What happened? Loads of AT pros sold!!!

While we have been having extreme heat here for weeks now 100-100+ temperatures and very little rain and ground dry and hard as a rock , in a drought here , followed by a record breaking rain 10-12 inches in 1 day yesterday. that is about 3 months of rain in one day. I have been watching some of the Aussie gold hunters on TV, watching them hunt for gold in the Australian outback . Seems like the kind of machine the might like.

Oh yeah, some Aussies will buy Garrett for the lower price.

No way would I ever consider paying anything near that. I'm a So.Cal saltwater beach hunter. There just isn't enough bulk gold out there anymore to justify that kind of price in a relatively short period of time. My cheap old DF still gets some.
