Anyone in Southern IL or southern mo

I'm new to this metal detecting but I love it and the history problem is I'm pretty sure that I'm the only one in a. IL or s. Mo area and I don't know where to start or even begin I asked the mayor of the town near bye if I could detect the park his reply NO I'm extremely shy so there's the other obstacle I face I have been sitting in this park in an old town called old Appleton population 71 in my car waiting for the rain to subside however not sure that's happening any time soon which sucks because I drove an hr to get here thinking if I had a partner to go w we both say heck w the rain and just go lol anyway if anyone is around the area hit me up..

First off Welcome to the forum. Lots of great folks here to help you out. If you are unsure about certin areas just call the local police about the rules of detecting or strike up a conversation with a local and see what transpires from that. I'm pretty confident you will find more open doors than closed ones. Good luck and happy hunting.

Thanks I'm not sure there is a police in this village there's population of 71 and I think they counted single parents as two it's really really small was on maps as a ghost town I don't see anyone to ask them guess I could find the next nearest town.. thanks again for the warm welcome
