2018 has definitely been a year with a lot of advancement for me, though maybe not as much as I might have wanted, largely because private permissions weren't what they could have been. But I am still happy overall with the year in detecting. Got my first V nickles, a good number of Barbers, and went from no non-junk rings last year to 14 silver rings this year. I'm also up over 200 total grams of silver coins and jewelry for this year and last year, so not a bad pile.

Silver coins: 26 (25 pictured, one given to homeowner)

Sterling: 14 (13 pictured, one given to family friend)

Wheats: 127

My clad count is a little nebulous. My recordkeeping for my detecting in general wasn't great – I know exactly how much and how many I've dug at my university permission, but didn't really keep track elsewhere. The university total was $215.70 with 2,717 coins, but everything together has be $350 or more. I also got around $70 from scrap aluminum, copper, and brass found detecting. I netted enough through this to buy a $5 gold piece and $10 face value of silver quarters.

My proudest find from this year is also my oldest coin of all time: 1835 Capped Bust Half Dime. It's in rough shape, but I love everything about it.

My goals for 2019: find my first gold and my first large cent.

You sure had a great year! You've got some pretty cool silver rings in there, that National Champions ring looks especially cool!

Thank you! The rubies in that ring also turned out to be real. I love the one to the right of it. Beautiful and definitely handmade by the unevenness of some of the decoration.

A very impressive year indeed. Not only a nice take of Silver but a few bucket listers along the way. Hope the new year is even better. I want also to say thank you for the info you passed on to me in acquiring your Gold Coin. I used the same company and got a very nice Coin but will not pass that info on as I had a very bad experience with them with the purchase. Trapper

Yeah! You killed it! Not only on the coins but you got yerself some nice looking silver jewelry! Good on ya Buddy! Heres to your 2019 GOLD!:beers:

Thanks to all for the encouragement! Here's to a great 2019 for all.

Trapper, really sorry to hear you didn't have a good experience with them. I've ordered from them a couple times without issue, but their customer service may be inconsistent. Glad you ended up with a beautiful coin, though!
