I found this IHP two weeks ago. Most old copper coins I would brush off than wipe with my fingers. Thats what I did with this one, but it was difficult to get a date. I was looking at it and saw a small chip on the edge. Under the crust was a sharp green coin. So I used the tip of a zip tie and started chipping away. What a difference.

Oh I know that took some time MDM. Great job, it looks fantastic. I have used many different painstaking methods to clean my Ihps. Some come out great and some not so great. Finding and Ihp will make any hunt for me. Mark

Pretty sure some years had different amounts of copper/brass/nickel etc... that's why "fatty" injuns almost always come out cruddy. They had a high percentage of nickel in them. The environment they were found in can play a big part in condition too. I love finding those injuns that the brown just flakes right off and leaves a nice emerald green patina underneath. Looks like that was the case with this one. Nice looking IHP!
