Hey Guys!

Here is my final mega display! 2022 was a hard year to find the clad. I was able to get to another 1k again!. ($1,138) I have been metal detecting for 10 years now. I have found a crazy $13,682 in total clad! It was a feat that was I never in my wildest dreams of doing. I took up metal detecting to hunt for gold and valuables and realized that clad is were the money was and so it easy to find. Every park and school I went to was loaded with tons of clad. Out here, there are many of parks and schools that I could clean up. I was averaging $20 per hunt at one point. I upgraded my ATPro to the amazing Nox800. Year after year I was finding thousands of dollars in clad. The rings were always special. Gold was hard to find but I did find from time to time. Silver was easier. I think I have over 250 silver rings and 3 ounces of gold still. I can't see myself parting my rings. They symbolize the years of hard work I did.

So now I feel its time to part ways with metal detecting. 10 years of hard work, joy, love and experiences. I will always remember the times of cladding. Days and days of hunting for hours at a time. 10 years is a long time. My body surprising held up over the years. I must have walked over a million steps! So now, its time to walk away on top. My life is a open book and I need to move to the next chapter of my life. I will ALWAYS love metal detecting. Who knows, maybe some day I will get back in to it and hunt from time to time. For now, I am hanging up my hobby of love.

I want to thank all you guys out there for supporting me over the years. I made some good friends and will always cherish them. I am sad but proud of my work over the years. The pics are from 2022. It took a long time to clean and prep. Enjoy them. I will visit from time to time. I will always be Noxdude and will pop in from time to time. I will add my totals to the 2022 totals. Happy hunting everybody out there!

Congrats on a wonderful ten year career! Sometimes it's best to walk away too soon rather than too late. Sounds like you've maintained your health throughout!

Wow that’s a lot of clad. How many actual coins is that? Nice work! Your body held up from all that good exercise digging all that clad. I hope you get back out once in a while. Seems like you really enjoyed it.

As always, congrats on your astounding amount of clad this year! Your determination to get out and find stuff has been very evident. $13.6k - wow! Congrats on an impressive decade of clad!

Congratulations on your detecting totals. I have always looked to you as one of the more successful detectorists. I,ve also found the clad to be where most of the value is, but I haven’t pulled those values. You’ve done very well.
I hope you find a new hobby that will be as fulfilling as the detecting has been. Never say never… you might decide to come back to the search again.
Best of luck.
J

For myself, and for the entire Forum, we are sure going to miss your "Mega-Clad" hunting skills!!
And of course all your jewelry finds!! Stay healthy my friend!

Taking a break is always a good thing. Rest up for awhile then hit those sites again.. Once detecting is in your blood it does not leave..

Noxdude, what an impressive experience you've had with the hobby! Your yearly clad totals have been astounding, and simply unattainable for many of us. Congratulations! :clapping: :stars:

Even if you are setting aside the hobby, your postings have been enjoyed here on FMDF, and so we'll look forward to seeing you pop in as time allows! Please keep us updated on how things are going with you. Have a great 2023!

Crazy pile of coins!! I see you swung the AT PRO and switched to the NOX. A big game changer? Was there a difficult learning curve?

As an old relic myself I do bid you a fond farewell. Reading and seeing the stories you have told and pics you have shared have been not only enlightening but encouraging to say the least. You WILL be back. I do believe.:clapping:If not, God go with ya, and don't stop digging.

Jason, Congrats on yet another great season for you...its truly amazing the amounts you have found. You have been bitten by the detecting bug and although you want to move on from detecting that bite never goes away...Ill say youll take a much needed break but eventually will dive back into it which is ok...Detecting is such a great hobby that pays for itself. Between the great exercise, the finds and the great people you meet in this hobby its hard to walk away from. I wish you the best in whatever you choose to do...Please keep in touch though, we go back a long way...myself battling cancer the last 2 years im hopeful to get back at it again this season. Its great thearpy. Congrats to you again my friend...Enjoy life bro !! peace

Thank you my friend. It was fun connecting with you over the years. I hope you beat up that cancer! Yes, it's time to move on. I took out the battery in the nox and now it's hanging up on display collecting dust. So many memories so much clad. You need to get out there and hunt my friend. I will check-in from time to time. Keep me updated!
