I’ve been hitting some old cellar holes recently and looking for bottle dumps and privies and have been having some luck with the detector but not on the bottles. First one was last week at a spot my dad took me to where he used to dig bottles 40 years ago and I found two Indians in one hole, which is a first for me, and then tripped over a wasted KG3. Second hunt was at a spot I’ve hit before and all I had was the detector and a big shovel. Didn’t even have a pinpointer as I was looking for a dump site. First signal was an Indian, couldn’t get a year off it. Second one was a New York excelsior button which is the second one I’ve found here in Connecticut. The third was a screaming 27-28 signal that turned out to be an 1819 matron in beautiful shape. Like I said no bottles but I’m definitely not complaining. Two hunts, 3 Indians, two coppers and a civil war button. Sorry Tom

They where some good scouting trips. You never know how thing are going to go. Congrats on all your coins.
I was detecting and found a privy in a field. Wasn’t looking for it. Just dug a deep target and out popped a lot of broken pottery and a small Medicine bottle.
