silver coin

I metal detected an old swimming hole from the 50's and 60's. Notable finds 1957 penny and a 1969 quarter. Unfortunately the canadian quarter was 1 year too new to have any silver! Other than that great day :D

Found Lady Liberty at 10" at a park here in Chicago. Sounded faint and no VDIs but repeatable. A semi-Key date 1895 S Barber half with a bullet indent. I always check the Coin Star Machine when I leave the supermarket. I've found found couple of silver dime over the past few years but today was better. A 1964-D silver Washington quarter. I haven't gone out this year yet so this was a nice way to start! :D

I haven't seen a blueish toned dime before so i thought i would share.

We had a Air Force Base here starting in the WW2 days, and it was active until 1971. I recently got permission to hunt the enlisted housing area just off base ... all six square blocks!! The units are now low rent housing ... and about half unoccupied. Everything is still as the Air Force...
