Can anyone tell me what these are? Definitely lead. Old bullets?

I found both of these today while detecting. I found them within a 1/2 mile of one another in Southeast Louisiana near the Pearl River.

    Minie Ball Caliber help?

Does anyone have a clue as to what caliber this bullet is? Found in an area with lots of other standard civil war minie balls. Could it be a miss cast? I thought I have seen one like this before, but I can't find anything close to it!

    11/16" Diam Lead Disk

Would anybody have a good guess as to what this small lead disk was used for? I found it amongst other Civil War items, such as Minie Balls, buckle, and a button. I thought, maybe lead weight or button? Dimensions: 11/16" Diam 3/16" thick Has 2 holes that go completely through (laterally)

Any help identifying these? Perhaps Enfield?

Picked these up on an 1868 battlefield in Japan. Shot by Imperial soldiers at the Shogun’s forces. Measure 1.03” long, about .56” diameter. I understand forces on both sides were using imported muskets and rifles.

    What do we have here?

Hi there! I hope someone can help me identify these items! Found in a cow pasture in the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia. They are small (maybe 1.5 inches), and are quite heavy/appear to be lead.

A few from an old church

I am not sure on a few of these. I received permission for a church built in the 1870s. Not much luck on anything too old. The pastor seemed to think it had been hunted over the years. I am most curious about the lead items but also the token/purse/thingy. 1. I couldn't tell if the little ball...

    Lead Something (bullet?)

So, I was around a site that goes back to the late 1700s. I doubt this is that old but it looks like lead. It seems solid but almost like a rock inside. I don't know. I found some bullets online that resemble it. It almost feels like a rock. I wasn't sure if it was maybe a sinker. The color is...

    Coin, Token,...Other???

Any idea what this thing is? It was found in my "relic spot" in my front yard. An approximate 12x12 ft area that keeps growing nails, rust and a few other interesting finds including a couple of flat buttons, horse tack, a pile of melted lead, cleated horseshoe, iron reins guide... but I'm...

    Total novice! Need help!

Hello folks! I want to start by saying that I am not a collector or hunter, but this sounds like a fun hobby that I may get into later in life when I might have more time. I need help! My yard is riddled with .22 caliber lead air rifle pellets! And it as recently come to my attention that my...

    Heavy lead part of something

I dug this up in someone's yard. Feels like lead to me. At first I thought it was a plumb bob, but it would need more of a point on it. The hole runs all the way through it. Thanks.

    Metal detector for Police Department

I have been given permission to purchase a metal detector for my police department. This would primarily be used for finding projectiles (LEAD) and brass casings. From my understanding not all metal detectors have strings/sensitivity for these metals. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good...

    Recent lead items

I have so many lead items, but, here are some of the most recent. The largest is from a dig in Exeter, RI. The others are from Monmouth Co, NJ. Hoping some of you bullet\lead experts can weigh in on age? Thanks for any info!

    Hope this is CW...

Hi everyone. Just started metal detecting again, haven't since I was a kid. I dug this lead arrowhead up a couple days ago on my third time out. I am hoping it is a Civil War relic, something a soldier carved at a camp site maybe as a poker or chess piece but I'm not sure. Ive also heard that...

Molten Piece of Metal Found at Old Gold Mine

I went out last Saturday with my metal detector to go explore an old gold mine in Golden, New Mexico. Didn't find any gold unfortunately but I did find some cool things. However, I have no idea what this object might be. It rang up under the same category as silver/dimes/quarters with my...

    what exactly is this?

Found this over here in Connecticut at a friend's house. Looks like some sort of printing stamp but why the embedded penny? Which is 1930 if that matters. On the side are four words, we can make out "Sturgis Tompkins" probably one of the most unique things I've found so far, anymore info on it...

    Slave Shackle? and a Bullet?

Hello fellow MD enthusiasts! I need help identifying two objects in the attachments. One of them is a lead bullet shaped object that I found at a park in PG county (near my work). The other is what looks like a shackle that I found in a creek right on the surface of the cobble. I am 50/50 that...

Civil war bullets? Dates? Coal miner pendant.

Hi all, I've been enjoying finding these non-magnetic bullets, the round ball on the top left is non-magnetic, the one on the bottom is magnetic so I think that might be a baring. Can anyone verify these bullets dates? types? there is no writing on them. The long thing is magnetic, strange...
