Hiya! I am a bit of a newbie to the hobby and was metal detecting in a field (don't worry I have permission) and I dug this up:
I haven't a clue what it is. At first I thought spear/arrow tip, but then why would it be off center? Does anyone know what it is?
Ps: here are some more pictures...
Hello Everyone,
I know this is a long shot but maybe someone has seen this little bird somewhere. My son and I where detecting an old logging camp. From all of the other items we found on that location it was from around 1920's to the 1940's. I was thinking it could be a little lid or...
Hi all, I found the following in the Hudson River valley on popular hunting grounds that have been inhabited since the 18th century. I found many early 1900's shotgun headstamps but these 2 finds I am unable to date or identify. I thought maybe the buckle is older but I have no idea.:?: Any help...
Found my first ring today with my ATPro. It's been over a year since ive been out MDing. I hit up a local park on my lunch break today and right under a bench (using my garrett propointer no less) I found this about an inch under the ground.
No markings but it's super heavy. What is the rule...
Well hello out there on the internet. I'm hoping you all can help me identify some mystery items I've come across while detecting a small portion of the Santa Fe Trail.
I have so many lead items, but, here are some of the most recent.
The largest is from a dig in Exeter, RI. The others are from Monmouth Co, NJ.
Hoping some of you bullet\lead experts can weigh in on age?
Thanks for any info!
Got some pretty cool finds today and yesterday.
1. An old button. Origin Unknown.
2. Solid brass Buckle. Handcrafted?
3. Strange object. On the knob it says Benedict & Burningham. ???
4. Old boy scout metal.
5. A token from the 1988 Tennessee Cotton Fair, found in Austin Texas.
I found this button at a local school yard near Rockville, MD. I thought it was a modern button. After cleaning it up, I think it might be older than I had originally thought. Any help with identifying it would be appreciated.
I have found several of these small brass (so I believe due to the coloring and lack of corrosion) tubes. They are tapered at one end and have a small splice on the same end. I am almost certain it is some miscellaneous civil war relic, due to their proximity to other identifiable relics I have...
Hello fellow MD enthusiasts! I need help identifying two objects in the attachments. One of them is a lead bullet shaped object that I found at a park in PG county (near my work). The other is what looks like a shackle that I found in a creek right on the surface of the cobble. I am 50/50 that...
