    Colorado Seal Button ID

Greetings and thank you in advance. Usually google/forums are my friend with regard to ID but I can't find much of anything on this button. I didn't include its profile - but its flat (unlike some of the larger dome buttons from civil war era). The best guess I have is a Colorado Militia...

    Interesting Find?

I found this a few days ago a few miles away from a Civil War camp and I have no idea what it is. It appears to have “6-70” on it and nothing on the back. What do y’all think it is?

    Age this button

Popped this button today along with a couple flat buttons..I’ve definitely seen a button like this on an episode of the Hoover Boys but can’t find it for the life of me. I can’t remember what they said about it. It’s a small button with a massive shank on the back and I’m thinking it’s pretty...

    Identification Help

Anyone have any idea what this could be used for? It looks hand forged, and is either copper or bronze. There area three holes total - two of which are through holes. Two of them are also tapped. It was found in a field which I assume has been a farm for a hundred years. However, there was also...

I need help identifying this button.

I found this button in my field. Just for reference In the same field I've found different coins from 1787 through 1820s and a bunch of other flat buttons but nothing quite like this one. Also there are no markings on the back that I can see. Any information anyone has would be greatly appreciated!

Found this metal detecting in Northern New Jersey, it was a few inches down. Can't figure out what it is.

Hi guys I have a bit of a mystery find. Its definitely made of some kind of metal material and has the number 56 on what I believe is the front of it and has a slight curve to its body. Looks like it also has three indents/bumps on the back of it. It's about the diameter of a quarter. I can't...

    Real Gold Foil Plated Mystery

I'm a newbie. I just started metal detecting. Within an hour of my first real hunt this past weekend, found this. Almost cried, y'all. I didn't think there was going to be anything in this field on my father-in-law's property in North Texas. I found a square/rectangular nail within the same area...

Could this be an ancient Native American Artifact?

I wish to firstly inform you guys that I am in no way experienced in the skill of finding and identifying Native American artifacts.:( I was recently told that there is a congregation of rock shelters once used by Lenape Indians as a seasonal camp within New York City's Inwood Park; I checked...
