A coin that i never even had in the back of my mind that i figured would show up in my hole. First time at a new permission . A friend of mine got me this permission from his brother to detect his farm . After digging a 1901 barber 1933 merc next signal was reading a solid 15-16 depth at 8-10 inches popped the plug and seen a coin but couldnt tell what it was until i cleaned it a little . Once i seen what it was the home owner asked me if i was ok . I was completely shock to find such a cool coin in my plug. Next finds were a silver ring and a sterling spoon. Thanks for looking . Congrats on the flying eagle cent, Yooper! That's a major bucker lister right there! It is one of my favorite coin designs, too. :cool3:
 
Wow, Yuper, that's a rare dig! Not even on my radar either, but a big fantasy wish list score! Is this your oldest US coin find now?
Sounds like the right time and place to dig a deep pulltab range signal.
 
A very fine surprise Mike indeed. Not a lot of them dug and a true bucket lister in most books. Congrats on the Flying Eagle and one that is in pretty good shape at that.A great recovery Mike for sure. Trapper
 
Nice save. I own one. Bought at a yard sale was in a Baggie full of foreign coins. Homeowner musta not realized what it was. Posted a thread about it here few years back.

Thank you . I will be digging all 15/16 signals if deep depending on location.

Yes it's my oldest coin now . I am going back next chance i get digging all repeatable signals. I know i am dreaming but maybe there might be a gold coin there:laughing:
