Some sort of gear, from what?

I have no idea what this would have come from. It sreems like it is mostly plastic, the ring shape inside might have metal in it, and obviously a rusted out piece on the disc. There are no markings other than some serial number. Rang up as a half dollar.

A clock maybe? Possible old sprinkler system.

it looks to be part of an old calculator machine .Google it under
"Google images" ....

Looks like an oscillating gear from a fishing reel. The rusted piece looks like the clicker mechanism.

Not trying to be snarky here but if you saw an image of it why wouldn't you copy the address while you were there and paste it in your reply?

Yes there are a bunch of complete calculators there but I did not see any internal parts such as this gear. Is that just a WAG or do you know it to be from one?
