XP D2 Warranty-Water ingress

There was another model waterproof detector released since Deus 2.
Go read warranty policy on it.
NO mention of water intrusion at all.
Just like Xp.
Just like Minelab.

Go figure.

Again case closed.
I get a kick out of you folks. No joke.

OP was asking about XP warranty. Why does he need to read someone else's warranty? You posted the info he already has read. I don't think it brings a new buyer ease someone saying case closed unless you are the warranty fulfiller.

Your reading comprehension issue is becoming tiresome.

Minelab's warranty does not state that their submersible devices aren't covered under warranty for water ingress if used properly. Nokta Makro's warranty policy states that their submersible devices are covered under warranty for water ingress if the device is used in accordance with the manual.

XP's warranty policy states that water ingress is not covered under warranty. Period. Get it now, or do I have to pull out the flash cards for you?

Someone a while back made a big deal about having "NDA's" signed. "Non disclosure agreement" with metal detecting company. And you wonder which one it is?

Go look at what Xp said when they replied to me.
They said that was in warranty for non waterproof components and using wrong plug for the situation in remote.

Here is the reply from the XP rep:

Hello David,
Thank you for pointing this, especially if that raises some questions from the community.
This is to protect us from people who might use the DEUS II incorrectly. We can say the DEUS II is waterproof in its waterproof set up:
Antenna setup + red cap on remote control + BH-01
WS6 is not waterproof for example though it’s part of the pack

That’s why we have written this sentence.

No where in the rep's reply does it affirm that water ingress is covered under warranty if used in accordance with the manual. You asked a specific question about water ingress, and got a dodgy answer. We've already gone over this in which I said the same thing.

All you keep doing, is repeating information that answers nothing.

You won’t get an answer here. So why keep harping. To my knowledge there’s no Xp rep here.
Like I said.
The other manufacturers don’t mention water intrusion either in warranty stated on their sites or in manuals for their equipment.
We should be holding detector manufacturers to the same standard.

You have a nice day.

How many times do I have to mention that I asked XP about it, and they haven't replied? Do you actually think that no one else wants clarification about this?

I also posted about Nokta Makro's warranty policy that states the warranty covers water ingress if the device is used in accordance with the manual.

Now I'm not sure if you have a reading comprehension problem, a selective reading problem, or both.

No XP reps here, only a few salesmen  Buyers will have to purchase and just hope it doesn't leak. Apparently we won't know how XP will handle it until there's actual water intrusion cases. I cant say I've heard of any, which is a good thing. I would imagine there has been at least one case. Time will tell...

No, it is most certainly NOT "real simple". It's dubious, shady, and everyone can see that, except you. Heck, you didn't even question XP when they dodged your warranty question, nor have you mentioned that they didn't even take a few minutes to clarify their policy on their website, even though the XP rep mentioned something about not wanting their customers to be confused. So, why didn't they modify their warranty policy? They've had a few months to do something that takes a few minutes, and would have easily cleared up the confusion that the rep seemed concerned about.

Furthermore, you said," Warranty says if machine is used disobeying manual instructions and damage results warranty doesn’t cover"

Except, that has nothing to do with my question, nor does it address the fact that the warranty policy clearly states that water ingress is not covered under warranty.

These points seem reasonable to me.

Best thing to do is not buy one as I don't want competition. Please everyone buy Garrett so the questions stop . Thank you for your understanding

It is the "best thing" to not buy now. Deus2 is a high price now with warranty clear. Not worth the gamble without actual XP warranty clarification from questions already asked over time, IMO.

Some people get touchy if you mention obvious facts about something written poorly. Only thing driving me nuts about a D2 right now is watching that brown water swish around inside the antenna. Will it last 5 years which isn't covered under warranty anyways or am i going to have to buy 7 antenna's in 5 years? Nobody knows yet!

All I'm saying is noone should gamble their hard earned money on a chance detector with no warranty. I personally own 2 Deus 2's one with 9" coil and one with 11" coil. I've never had an issue with most brands warranty no matter how they were written. So yeah I would not take any chance if unsure about the warranty. Garrett has a good warranty I'd advise everyone just to buy them .

Were you referring to me? Lol. Touchy? Really? Lighten up Frances... Most detectors I've bought over the last 40 plus years have had warranties with language that was not too clear. Noone really made a huge deal over it. Now all of the sudden it's do or die. Lol it's just comical watching the back and forth lol. But please don't assume I care that there are a few that are all up in arms over warranty wording. I don't care at all. But I was bored after detecting all day and thought I'd chime in. ;).

Most people/friends I deal with care about what's written and how a warranty is prepared. A few I know don't care because they are stinking rich. Lol... You might not care now , but if you have to send yours in , that's when you will change your tune...

You appear to have a lot of money to burn. Some struggle to buy one detector. What's wrong with someone worrying about a warranty document? You just said you don't care so why is it bothering you?

XP Deus don't know how to answer the questions about the warranty because they don't understand it themselves.

It is almost as it reads as this....garej udrabym kftsbxfeat uyrrdbgwxzhgfe.....quite confusing right.

What is bad is there are some people that are trying to translate it and telling others it reads as this ....all fine and good.
