X pointer

I am still waiting for mine to come in, but I really love the fact that you can dig around with it as hard as you want and it won't false, that is what sold me on it. I really wish the orange model was available but from what I have gotten from the sole dealer in usa (from what deteknix emailed me) the colored and camo versions wont be available until late summer.

Great, you are a dealer now. Please post a copy of the warranty data (warranty cards), phone numbers, location and address of the service center, and booklet accompanying the product showing the manufactures data, FCC data and safety information.

Well.. I would like to know also. If it quits working where you would send it, who you could call, how much to get it repaired, does it have to go back to China to be fixed?

I have looked around a little and there is not much info about these concerns.

All the people that have complained about the Garrett PP were able to quickly send it to Garrett and get it fixed. Most of the time there was no charge and there was one person who had taken his apart and it was over a year off warranty and they sent him a new on for about $50.

Is this going to be the same with X pointer ??
 
There is a US stateside repair station at golddiggers metal detectors. They have a 2 year warranty from authorized dealers. No warranty card as of now just keep your receipt from authorized dealers and you will be fine.

So people that have ordered these from anybody else is SOL.

Golddiggers is just a MD dealer importing these. What is their expertise in repairing them? What is the availability for the parts to fix them? Do the parts have to come from China? How quick will they get it fixed?

If you lose you receipt you are SOL.

I am not trying to start any trouble for anybody. These are concerns that I have when making a purchase. I hope that these are great and no problems. But I like to know that if I have a problem with a product I am covered and not going to get a run around.

I owned one and began the research when I discovered that I got a box , a pointer and a half sheet with some base instructions on it. Even the box does not have any information about warranty, manufacture data, phone numbers or anything else other than pictures and product name. I looked at the address for gold diggers and the Google earth thing showed some residence. Maybe the process I did with Google was wrong because I am not the greatest internet person. All pertinent data should be in the box along with the product at the time of sale. This after the sale business does not seem right to me. This is why I asked so many questions. With respect to the buyers, the selling distributor should have had all this in place prior to this marketing adventure.

Good question on the no receipt thing. I will find out. I will bet they will work with you.

I have talked to them and they are fully stocked and able to repair any problems the X-pointer may have according to them.

Me, I still would use the trusty Garrett Pro Pointer, Minelab Pro-Find 25 or a Whites TRX Pin Pointer for a few dollars more.
 
The receipt thing would have to be where each dealer submitted a copy to the distributor which would bring up a personal data issue. I absolutely do not understand why this was not set up day one. A warranty is a two way street and protects the sellers, manufactures and the consumers. As it stands now the sellers and manufacture are giving a wide open 2 year guarantee without terms which means, that if the dog eats it it is covered. Under that system the item does not even have to be returned to have the guarantee honored. This is provided that the little mark on a web site stating "2 year guarantee" is actually honored by the business that posted it. Today's warranty cards are a highly scrutinized legal documents meant to hold up the strongest legal action. Leave it as is and that same system will probably test it.
 
A handful of us are using them. If any of us have a warranty issue and have problems all info will be posted on these forums. Also if warranty issue goes smooth and they handle the problem either repair or replace in a timely manner then it will also be posted
 
I'm still wondering if they did a little reverse engineering and might have taken a few patents. China doesn't honor any patents.

That data should be interesting provided they follow their posted return policy where ALL items are to be shipped to the manufacture and not them. Just read golddiggers web site.
 
Can someone try it in the salt wet sand? I don't use one at the beach. But some do. It's a PI. So you should actually be able to put it in a ziplock and use it in the saltwater on the bottom. May still order one for a day when we may have some bottom visible targets. Guy once picked up a chain running his fingers on the bottom looking for live sandollars. He showed me where he was and I dug several jewelry including a 14k wedding band in the same area:lol:

Gold Digger is the authorized repair station for the pointers. On this particular item you are required to send it to them for any warranty work. As I said before I talked to them and they are fully setup to repair them.
 
Thanks again bart. ;). Im not too pressed as its $89 and i love trying new things. I have other main brands as backups. Im impressed so far and ive purposely been harder on the xpointer than my other ones.
 
Here is the official warranty:

"Warranty period is for two years and covers manufactures defects. In the event of a failure,
Gold Digger will either repair or replace your X-Pointer free of charge during this period.
This warranty does not cover batteries or any failure caused by abuse, neglect, tampering,
weather related failure, battery acid or repairs made by an unauthorized party."

If you bought it from overseas you need to contact the person you bought it from for warranty. Gold Digger does not warranty those purchases. Only warranty that will be done is purchases made from authorized US dealers.
