X-mas Bonus was the boss good to you?

My company traditionally would give us a turkey for Thanksgiving and a $20 Walmart gift card for Christmas. Last year we got neither, instead we got a check for $250. We had all hoped we would get the same thing this year but instead we got squat for Thanksgiving and they've been giving turkeys to whoever wanted one this week. I did what I've always done with my turkey, told them to donate it to feed the hungry.

As long as I've been at this company, there have been no bonuses. We don't even have a Christmas party anymore. It's possible that there are bonuses, but they are only given at the executive level.

They gave presents at the party (before they stopped having them) to those who participated in humiliating games for the amusement of the rest.

Yes, my resume is out there.

We got a secret santa thing going there at work too. I got drawn a fellow fresh out of prison. What am I suppose to get him? A monopoly game for the get out of jail free cards?

I already got my present from the secret santa, who told me he wasn't any good at secret santaing, and asked me if there was anything I wanted. I couldn't tell him anything, so I got a Cthulhu and an Elder Sign tie tacks, since he knew I was an H. P. Lovecraft fan.

I always give out silly presents to everyone in the office. This year, I'm giving them Christmas bonuses "slightly delayed" that are actually reproduction colonial paper money. I've given out ancient coins, envelopes stuffed with worthless foreign currency (including several Peruvian Intis), and one year I gave them presents with notes that said that the good people got gold watches, and the bad ones got dead bugs. The presents were all Trilobites (fossil dead bugs, sort of). I don't spend a whole lot, but I have fun with it.

I got an $800.00 bonus that turned into $650.00 after taxes and withholding,
which turned into $000.00 as soon as I got home and the boss found out
about it...:(:?:

My bosses always look out for us even if business is bad, Our bonus this year was a 1 week full pay check with only taxes taken out. Mine was about $500. To bad it went towards Christmas!!!!

Many years ago, I started working at a civil engineering firm
that was just starting their new business.

The first year, at the Christmas party, we got 2 weeks pay as
a bonus. :gettinmoney:

The second year, we got one weeks pay. :cool12:

The third year, we got a ham. :)

The fourth year, we got a small turkey.

The fifth year, our boss made a big joke of it and gave us a can
of peas,,,,, :censored:

I bugged out after that,,,

Bonus??? whats a bonus. I am a dairy farmer and am hardly surviving. Farming has been in our family for longer than I can remember and the last 2 years it has been the worst financially & it isn't looking better anytime soon. Hope all goes well with you Doug, I think most of us are in the same boat one way or the other. Steve.

Our yearly bonus is a twenty five dollar gift card that is given out during a "safety meeting". During the meeting we are told about the company buying gifts for needy families and ask us for donations toward that cause and then mention, that the gift cards can be accepted as well. So whats a guy to do? Give back the card and be thankful you had something to give to someone else.

That's tough Steve.

I hope things get turned around fer ya.

Oh, I forgot to mention,

SS and my small pension don't have no bonus,,,

We didn't even get a cost of livin adjustment ,

Well, I just might have come up with that secret santa gift. I seen these two rare collectible books in a thrift shop and just had to have them. I didn't have my glasses with at the time to see what the big deal was about, but after I got home I found they are choked full of outhouse poetry!
Some fellow in Montana wrote them (no not me) and dedicated them to his wife!

Our company did very well this year and all 50 employees got a nice $2,000.00 bonus. Our employers are VERY generous. Very lucky to work here.
