What Do You Make?

UncleTykie you're my kind of person!

I just had lunch and after seeing you're pictures I'm already hungry again.

Let's face it, when it comes right down to it...great food rules.

Glad to see we've got some people in the duck business! I make these time allowing, for presents and use them for working decoys. Problem is for me to get out of bed early enough to find the ducks.

Nice decoy!
I saw a hand made one on ebay a while back and it had a very low bid. I was going to snatch it up the last minute. But the last minute it went sky high.

Thanks for posting.

Badger,
I've sold a few over there, just enough to break even and buy more cork and basswood, hard as hell to get ahead anymore ain't it? I keep thinkin one of these days I'll find something to do that's fun & profitable!

Well said!

The world is changing fast. There's still money to be made but one must move ahead with the times.

Hi, just signed up, before detecting I use to build these tall sailing ships.
Over ten years I'd completed 3 in all, who knows maybe in the future I might start another one.

nice work,,,my friend does that ,,he told me how he draws small strips of wood thru successfully smaller holes drilled into a brass plate to get ultra small round dowels for pegging the deck down,,,,,,WOW you have talent

Veg., those tall ship models are fabulous!

I'm amazed at the patience some people have. I could never do one of those.

Back when ebay was brand new, there used to be some super great models offered at bargin prices. I recall one that was made by a prisoner ca. mid 19th century (as I recall). It was about 6 feet long and had super detail. If I remember right it sold for less than $200. Ebay back then was a killer for antiques of all sorts.

Thanks for posting and sharing with us your talent.

funny you should mention patience,,,it is exactly what I said to my friend when I saw his models,,,,,he was VERY confused and said you don't need patience when you are having fun :confetti::run1::snapoutofit:

Good point. I guess if one really likes what one is doing then the time is not all that important.

I find it exactly that way in my oil painting.

This is a cook me and my bbq team did yesterday.
We cooked 278 pounds of pork butts for our little fair that starts tomorrow.
The pork will be reheated and shredded and made into pulled pork sandwiches.

Rick and Mark checking pit temps.

Wrapping pork for reheating tomorrows feast.
All pork butts are cooked to an internal temp of 200 degrees F.

This isn't the largest cook that ive been involved in, last May helped the bbqbrethren folks cook about 800 lbs. of butts and beef brisket in Dayton Ohio.
This is an outreach program to feed over 1000 folks who are less fortunate than others.
They were very very thankfull.

Thanks for looking, Mike

WOW Mike! I'm like drooling as I look at all that awesome meat!

I promised the wife I'd get down to just being obese this year or I'd get out that smoker proto. :D

It will run from the heat of your hand on a cold day.
