Weight Loss Challenge

No cheating here, just strict diet and the Cybex Arc Trainer.

I can lose it, keeping it off is another matter I hope to fix this time around.

I just wanted to let everyone know that they are doing a good job, and it looks like this contest was what was needed to get them moving. I had already started losing before the contest, but wasn't finished so figured I would join. I started the year at 285 pounds, and was down to 270 when the contest started. I plan to be 240 by May 6th. That is my goal anyway. I think that I can lose another 14 pounds by then. I walk 7 to 10 miles 5 days a week and eat healthy foods. Or should I say stopped eating because I was bored and instead of a bag of chips, it's an apple or yogurt. I don't plan to win, I plan on being healthy. After 28 lbs. so far this year, when I look in the mirror I don't see it, but damn my clothes fit different.

Way to go Kujo! You'll get there if you keep up the good work. I too started before this contest. Once it started I was at 231. By the end I will be disappointed if I can not make it to at least 185. I do mixed exercises but try to hit the elliptical at least once a day to burn 400+ calories by itself. If you guys want a real workout try the stairmaster. That thing will kick your butt for the next three days.

well just remember that any loss is a success towards the end everyone should be close because people can only loose so much weight so don't think your out of it yet

I just want to reiterate. I am not accusing anyone of cheating. You are a good bunch of people and don't think you would do something like that. I just want to make sure everyone has a fair shot.

:tomato:

it could be a good idea to have some sort of verification at the end

I actually think it would be cool to have before and after pics of everybody. Kind of a motivation for after Thanksgiving when some of us will put the pounds back on. When ever I gain some weight I always slap a recent picture up of when I was in better shape and try to regain that shape. Maybe somebody can take all the individual photos and photoshop them together.

I'd be satisfied just looking at the final numbers. If a picture is required, we shoulda made that a requirement when we started this thing. (4) four weeks in may be too late if someone gonna fib on their weight.

Well i'm just saying that it would give validation to the person who wins. I don't see a reason for some not to want to validate that they lost alot of weight whether they were over 300 and down to 250 or 190 down to 160 because then they would get congrats from everyone. It is just a simple thing to do if everyone is telling the trust then there is nothing wrong with showing the picture

Since we are at the end of the contest, I wanted to add the pics of me now. I am 9 lbs to my goal weigh that I wanted to reach by Summer, a number I plan to hit within two weeks. At that time I will have lost enough to go zip lining and horseback riding...two things I haven't done in a long time.

Thanks, Vexhold, for the motivation to be a loser again this year. I plan to keep posting here to keep me losing weight.

I have the day off work, sick, so I thought I would post before and after pics. The before pic is actually half a week into the program...I always forget to do this and so I finally remembered one morning at 5am, hence the bags under my eyes  The after pics were taken an hour or so ago. I am actually VERY surprised how much a difference there is in my gut after 33 lbs lost. I hold almost all my weight in my gut and my upper legs.

I still have 80lbs to go til my goal weight! 200 is 20-30 lbs above the BMI chart but as you can see I have a big frame and muscular structure.

Thanks and HHing!

Those are the kind of pictures I like to see. GREAT JOB! That was a HUGE difference. Bet every time you look at that it motivates you more. Keep up the good work.

Thank you! It was more of a difference than I thought actually. I don't take measurements although I should. You bet I'll be looking at these pics every time I want a quick "meal" at McDonald's.

Dont eat that !!!! food. I wont even allow my children to eat from there, Wendy's, BK etc... That type of food, while it may taste so good, will slowly kill you from the inside out.

Keep up the great work. We still got plenty of time to go before it's over and maybe then we can start afresh. ;)
