You're kidding, right? An old engineering principle seems to have been forgotten. KISS, Keep It Simple Stupid.
I've read an aweful lot of comments on this piece of gear and the thing that stands out to me is someone tried to stuff 10 pounds of !!!! in a 5 pound sack. An old engineering principle seems to have been forgotten. KISS, Keep It Simple Stupid.
Ya want a dumb downed pointer buy a garrett. Off and on....and buzz/beep... old engineering principles are just that. ...old. If you have used one and can make an intelligent interjection into the conversation...then go for it. Plenty of tire kickers and nay sayers...that have never touched a TRX....give me a break.

"Dumbed down?" I can only imagie what Garretts made off of the sales from the ProPointer just last year. Seriously...the Garretts is swift when turned on and until the target is retrieved. Until I get my TRX and flex it a lot to give me a change of heart, I will still believe in what the engineers at Garretts put out long ago, AND is still the leader of the PPr industry right now today.
for me I still would give it a year to see how the switch holds up. there is going to be a ton of cycles on that switch from all the use of turning it on and off, Ground Balancing it, ratcheting it up and down, there could easily be thousands of cycles on it in a year of hard hunting
Bubba707 I think if you tried a TRX and gave it a chance to impress you with what it can do ...you may just like it. There really is room on the market for more than just a garrett propointer, dont ya think?

Of course there's room on the market for lots of things. Some folks are going to love all the bells and whistles, some of us will have little to no use for it all, just like some folks actually use a smart phone while some of us are fine with a basic flip phone. Most of the time I just use the pinpoint on my detector, sometimes I use the Garrett, but I prefer simple to complicated.
^^^luv this guy!
