Time for Deus?

Tnss

i like the F75 brain on the machine, it's still light & balanced enough for me , also i saw a GPX4800 up my way for sale for 1800, but i am not in gold country, and most likely would be a dust collector, thanks for getting back on that, nice thread here, glad we all get along, Earl:clapping: CD Ground conditions up here, i am lucky to get 1 bar on the F75se graph, completely different soil up here, and not much relic hunting here, unless i go west, Frederick, Gettysburg, Hagerstown, Hancock , ect., now moving within 10 miles east of the Atlantic coast, a relic machine is not for me, i think i am locked loaded, beach bound, sorry for some disagreement's, i will say it was only one thread, when it involved the Dues , Minelab & F75 that got under my skin , testing, nothing else, happy relic hunting, Earl

Comparing 4500,4800, and 5000 GPX models.

It is about timing settings.

The finest of gold,,,,that can be detected.

And don't forget about the ,,,,,you need to rob a bank,,GPZ 7000 model.

As far as relics in hot ground,,,the 4500 will do fine,,,spending extra dough on a 4800 or 5000,, would be a waste of $$$.

And since not waterproof,,,Insure ain't going to be taking my 4500 model to the black sand salt water beaches and ruin.

Cheers Earl.

Looks like some mighty fine detectors being launched across the pond.
Wish I could run them all and see how good they are.
Hard to do though when they don't market here in USA,,,maybe that will change.

Thank's, you answered all my questions , and realize the Deus is definitely not for me, and the CTX3030s are best for me, if i ever go relic hunting, most likely not moving to the beach, i will run the F75se on my aunts 300 acre farm or the CTX3030 with the 17, Thanks, bottle cap queen, Ctx better on deeper silver, V4 not a great coin shooter is all I need to know , Thanks again you saved me 1500-- 2000 clams , Earl
If you run the Deus in XY screen you can definitely tell the difference between bottle caps and coins. If I was coin shooting a trashy park I would definitely run that screen.https://youtu.be/izfzu1egbT4

I ran an AT Pro and had the stock, small and NEL storm coils and found a TON of good stuff with it. As we all do, I returned to many sites time and again trying to find stuff I missed. If you asked me before I got the deus I would have bet you money there was nothing else to be found at those sites. Of course I have returned to many of them with the deus and found more coins and many other things. I am amazed at the number of tiny targets that the deus finds and I KNOW the pro did not make an appealing signal on them. I tweaked my back the other day and have been resting for a few days. I got the itch last night and decided to do some easy detecting so I hit my pounded front yard with the deus. I had not done this yet because I was sure it was barren of targets. I found a clad dime, it blew my mind because I killed that yard with the pro. It seems to me most of the finds I make in the hunted out sites are in between trash and nails. Also in open areas with less trash I find it hits on smaller deeper targets that the pro missed.
I will tell you the deus is a new language but for me it suits me well. Have no fear of settings in the remote (you need a remote), it is not rocket science and you have support here of many deus gurus far better than I.

Good luck and HH

remmy good post. You can do a quick test with a at pro and see WHY stuff gets lefted behind. Take 3 nails and a silver dime and dig a 4 inch hole by 8inchs lay the nails around the dime a few inchs away seperated of course. cover hole and find dime with the pro . When you have found the dime with the wiggle swing its easy because you know where its at. Now put a normal swing speed on the at pro and see if it hits the dime. In my garden with the stock coil it dissapears and if I keep sweeping it ,it might hit it every now and then. I always heard the pro was good in iron but when I saw what happened pluse when I went back over trash ridden area and pulled stuff out that at pros missed I knew something was up.

:?: Seems the Deus is really a secondary machine to compliment a primary discriminating VLF that can cherry pick. If the Deus is only ideal for open fields where you typically dig it all or to id small targets or targets on edge.... WHY NOT USE A PI?

Shoot, a Garrett Sea Hunter or Infinium can be setup in almost the same manner (shaft with coil). The PI is fantastic at even BB size size targets and be honest, they are pretty cheap!

A relic buddy of mine (Spectre1) swears by it, but yeah, just curious...

Anyone can take any machine to a site and THINK they picked it clean. Then take that very same machine back to that site a few hours later and find a ton of stuff they missed. So, its a coin toss between the deus and the at pro in that scenario. With the deus your gonna dig a lot of junk, its a relic machine. The at pro is more coin and jewelry, very good id and you'll dig less junk.If your a coin and jewelry hunter, your going the wrong way by leaving the at pro for deus.
Depth is over rated for one thing, and the deus might have a inch on the at pro in certain conditions. If you ever encounter the nail beside, above and below the coin , I guess you might wish you had the deus. Not sure if it exists , but you never know.
I'm defiantly not saying the deus or the at pro is better than the other. Its all up to what you want, are you a relic hunter go deus, coin and jewelry hunters stick with your at pro the deus cannot match its Id

Deus application good for more than just for fields. Can pick nonferrous out of ferrous better than most. I sure would hate to have to dig all targets with PI unit.

By the way Deus IDs nonferrous,,,,it set up correctly,,,,the ID system will flush out deeper nonferrous.

And with additional depth of targets,,,usually comes a find more worthy.(on average)
Granted in areas where dirt has been moved or added,,,could prove challenging.

Btw,,nice to see,,seems I have a follower (lurker) here,,,by looking at who is looking here,,at the bottom of screen. That's great.

a capable user can cherry pick with the deus I hear all this stuff about the deus and I wonder where in the world does it come from. Is the vdi as good as the ctx no BUT the tonal system is better and you can tell good targets from tone and yes the vdi works too. Will you dig alot of trash yes, will you dig alot of trash with a at pro yes, will you dig alot of trash trash with a ctx yes. In the hands of a capable user the deus is a beast but it takes time to figure out whats going on with the tones and I think alot of people never make it that far with the machine. I hear all the praises of the at pro me and wood butcher always dissagree on that point. The statement about depth I dont agree with the deus is ALOT deeper than the pro and there is another factor seperation which the deus smokes the pro on. I will say this im not gonna get in a back and forth match im very compentant with both machines and the pro no matter how BAD people want it to be as or almost as good as the deus its not sorry . I will say this whatever machine makes you happy swing it BUT im in this game for finds and if a machine can give me a edge thats the one I will be swinging.

heres a quote from woodbutcher (Depth is over rated for one thing, and the deus might have a inch on the at pro in certain conditions) Im being honest here why would you say something like that? You made that statement and its completely false about the depth of the deus and at pro. ANYONE who is halfway good with a deus and at pro knows the deus smokes the pro on depth. The at pro LOVES to call deep non ferrous targets iron and if you love the pro thats fine but dont make bluntly false statements about the other machine come on really.

I'm not debating my opinion, its just opinion. And everyone on this thread has they're own opinion.
The op was curious about leaving the at pro for a deus.In my opinion if he is a relic hunter I'd say yes.For coins and digging less nonferrous trash I'd say stick with At pro.
Not everyone sees things the same. But for me not to give my honest opinion of the two machines in question ,is unfair.
Geographically speaking not all of us are going to have the same results, and maybe not want the same results.
No bashing here from me, I like all machines. But balls are balls, and strikes are strikes. For relics the deus has the edge. For coins the at pro has the edge.I don't believe I'm the one being one sided,or biased here.

New version might be out in March but
The mighty Deus...
Fantastic write up fellas!

ANYONE who is halfway good with a deus and at pro knows the deus smokes the pro on depth.
..Depth is over rated for one thing, and the deus might have a inch on the at pro in certain conditions..
So how 'bout a quick test. Bury a modern dime (flat) in your own backyard and lets hear the results. Heck lets see some photos too!
Don't forget to mention which machine, version, and coil size you use. Keep the settings to yourself.

Tomorrow I'll break out the CTX and see what I get from the sand here in FL.

Correct Calabash, I know for a fact that the Deus will out perform the Pro in most if not all conditions and depth being one of them. The Deus just gives you more options to adjust and tweak settings to adjust to certain conditions, that's a FACT. Running in 18khz will be a smooth ride in mineralized conditions and hit on the smallest targets at great depth but i will tell you that this does not occur without the user understanding the machine. I have owned a Pro and would take the time and learn a Deus over a pro any day. The Deus is no slouch on coins either...I know this. Thats my article in the Deus handbook

I fail to see what that will do? Clearly if the CTX I's brought in it would be the deepest and the only machine to correctly id at depth. I can only give the op my real world hunting experiences of the two machines he asked about.

AT-Pro Great Detector

I have great success with my AT PRO as long as the coins/objects are 4-5" or shallower.
I almost never miss these targets (I think).
From having seen, read and spoken to folks, I think the Deus may be the machine for my hunting style.
Recovery time and additional depth being the biggest advantages.
Honestly, I would really like to get wireless headphones again too:D

Can anyone shed some light on the advantages/disadvantages of the Deus.

Firsthand experience only please.:D

I use the AT-Pro at PRO Zero Mode
I have no problem at 8-10 inches finding coins
If your spending big bucks, my opinion, go with the Minelab 3030
water proof up to 10ft/ great for salt water excellent for land
Happy Treasure Hunting

I fail to see what that will do? ..

Just a friendly rally to do some testing. Eh' no biggie if we don't.

This has been a great learning experience for me. Only place I've seen the Deus in action is on Florida beaches....not an ideal element for any SF-VLF.

I gotta say this, because these threads always turn into a debate.I'm not debating, just stating what my experiences are.
The op said he was looking at a deus, wondering if it were a good alternative to his at pro.I stated my opinion that the deus is a great machine for relics, which is anything old including coins.
But I prefer the at pro because I'm not a relic Hunter, and if he isn't either then my opinion is he wouldn't be better off with a deus.
Now, a 3030 has been brought in early , not what he asked about. And a At pro is 600, a deus ws4 about 1300, and a 3030 about 2 grand or better.

So, it was said the 3030 is not better than the deus by calabash, for his needs. Can't mistake that post.
And that's fair saying a much more expensive 3030 is not better than a deus. But its unfair to say a less expensive At pro is better in some ways than a deus? For someone else's needs? Its hypocritical.

But the op did ask for depth and speed, and said he's only getting 4 to 5 inches with his at pro.I don't know why because the at pro is definitely deeper than that.So maybe he should drop 1200 or better on a deus, and see if it's for him.Thats a lot of dough though, and not every machine is for everyone.

Everyone is stuck on depth.OK I get it, ego thing. But I'm not, I don't judge on depth alone. If I did minelab is king.

:laughing::laughing:

sorry just had to laugh, Lets not look at the 3030 as he has owned one but what I would suggest maybe is the Racer II for his style hunting.

surf master brought it up I just responded about my hunting style and said the 30 /30 wasnt better than the deus for relic hunting. So if someone wants to debate that start a new thread and ask all the skilled ctx -deus users which one is the best relic machine? There are some very skilled users on this forum, I didnt keep the ctx very long there was no need to it didnt out perform the deus for relic hunting. So lets get back to the AT PRO discussion......
