This pinpointer look very good!!!!!

My mod cen-tech gets better depth than that, I wonder if it is waterproof.

You can't be serious. Did we both watch the same video? The X pointer was better than the Propointer at level 4 by a factor of 2.

But the Cen-Tech??? You have a good one. Hang on to that one. martin

I'm serious, yet I modified mine a little, including tuning up the pot on the inside, I should make a video. I've always wanted (actually drooled over them) a pro pointer, but now watching the vids on them and other pointers, I think I would get frustrated with them... all except for the case, centech is bulky ugly and fragile, yet I solve the fragile problem with silicone and tape. But for over $100, and garrets big name, I would have assumed it would have more depth. I bought my cen tech years ago for abt $12-15, can't remember, I think they are abt $16 now. And you could be right, maybe some of the centechs don't have as much depth as other centechs, but, usually I'm not lucky, so I think with a few tweeks the cen tech has better electronics.

The chinese will put whatever name you pay them to put on it if you buy a bunch.. You think Sharper Image actually makes the !!!! they sell?

That's why corporate America loves the Chinese, because they follow orders

Another point of interest is that this X Pointer comes with protective tips & bungy cord setup for FREE - Yet these appear to be extra's you have to pay for for other pointers - Even with their metal detector they provide free arm cup straps - Bad bad China - How dare you give stuff away:lol:

Garbage buy.... They don't even beep like GPP..YouTube has many video's.. Buy from an actual licensed seller and you will not be dissapointed. My new csi GPP came in today and I'm very happy with it.

Half of the GPP's dont beep because it breaks...lol YouTube has many videos on bad GPP's also. The reviews on this from some larger names in the hobby are great, and first impressions make the GPP look bad. Longevity is another story though, we will have to wait and see. Although the pro pointer doesnt have the best reputation itself for longevity.

I am happy too when things are nice and shiny, however I am also getting very tired of my GPP falsing, even when lovingly cared for -

Honestly I think Garrett has dropped the ball somewhat by NOT improving their PP by fixing the current issues or waterproofing it - Its been a few years now, yet nothing -

This new PP certainly is not garbage IMO by what I have read or seen, but do please tell us potential buyers why do you regard this as garbage - did yours break or something?

No not a search gimmick.. the Garrett name is on the pointer big as life.
Nice compliment to be copied but not right by any means.

I like it as another inexpensive option, darn pinpointers are expensive for what they are.
Comes in pink and gold too for the ladies or flamboyant detectorist.

If you are not looking for gold, then the x pointer is for you!

The money you save and the free goodies from china should make up for not finding that gold chain.

What worries me more is the detector interference video`s I have been watching, battery life is also a concern but said to be good on nuggets..
The fella in your video didn't show him adjusting the unit to full sensitivity, not saying he didn't but would have rather seen it.

I own the XPointer and ProPointer. The XPointer will NOT false with pressure, has slightly more depth, a much brighter light, different alert modes and has not yet gone wacko, like my first ProPointer. On the other hand it will miss a small scrap of tin foil.
In a trade war with China I'm afraid we would loose. They're building a middle class, we're loosing ours.

The person in the video is a member on this forum. He goes by the name "itsaring!". You can contact him yourself and ask about the video.

I've watched more than one video showing the X-Pointer detecting a small piece of raw gold. Mine detects any gold jewelry I own.

As Ricky Recardo would say, "Splain dis." the X-Pointer hits gold.

You are comparing apples to oranges. The video by itsaring! was showing jewelry not gold flakes. I don't find any gold flakes in the parks I hunt.

Second is that the original video was comparing the x pointer to the TRX. The TRX is what I have. That is why I was interested in the original video.

Third is that you have to almost touch the jewelry with the x pointer to make it work on gold jewelry. I think I would be already seeing the piece of jewelry if I had to be that close.

And finally if you are happy with your chinese pinpointer, I am happy for you.

Air test on gold band with ProPointer=2 inches, with XPointer=3 inches. That's not almost touching. Yep, I'm happy!

Just want to chime in here. This may be a good economical unit and may even work almost as good as a Garrett Pro Pointer Or a Whites TRX BUT the big question is will this manufacture stand behind there product like Whites and Garrett does? I seem to think not.
Any issues I have had were quickly resolved by a phone call and more than once a new replacement part/unit was shipped out the same day before the defective was even returned. You cannot put a price on peace of mind.
