The Find of a Lifetime!!!! *Update With Pics*

That would be a shame

Kolby, I wold look at some of the state laws(I'm sure you have). I know in Arizona it was not that expensive to get a license for fully auto, just to cover your ownership. Or put a lamp shade on it and call it an antique lamp.

Yeah I have checked the state laws on fully auto firearms, I am form Texas and they are pretty laid back on their gun laws to say the least. It is perfectly fine to buy a fully auto and pay all the yearly taxes on it. However transporting a fully auto gun into the United States after 1988 is against the law even if the gun will never fire again...

Class III no longer importable, I think.

I do not think that an automatic can be imported into the USA any more. Probably not even one that is in that condition.

No, the goverment see this as a relic, it would still be smart to put holes in the gas tube and in the barrel. No the good ole us still sees this thing as a threat. Even if you pull out all of the gut put holes in the barrel and gas tube. The U.S is idiodic when it comes to guns that at one time or another had a fully auto function. I have a MG42 and a MP44 of my own and they are in good shape but I am selling them because I know I cant take them to the states with me its a shame I was giong to use them as props in my museum

Nice to hear that they do view this as a relic. Yes, getting a permit for a fully automatic gun is expensive, difficult, and time comsuming at best.

I honestly think that a gun that doesn't have the potential to hurt anyone should not be a problem to our government they should worry about other things......

I have to wonder just how many times I drove past that site in my 4 years at Bitburg back in the early 80's. Great find - congrats to all of you!!
