Singapore Gold!

NHKeith, I'm going on home-leave in October back to my native NH. I can't wait to search some old cellar holes again with my brother and newphews. Should be good family fun in the backwoods of New England.

More eye candy

Here's a few more finds from Siloso beach in Singapore:

I like also like finding these 8 gram, 22kt monsters!

And platinum is always nice too! :)

Singapore is a mix of Taoism, Buddhism, Hindu, Islam, and Christianity. With so many different religions all living and working together it's no wonder I find many different religious artifacts here.

I swear the sand on these beaches is part sand, part coin.

Bloody hell, you could give up your day job and metal detect singapore for a living!!

truly wonderful finds!

Actually, the taxi drivers that took me to the beach used to laugh at me and call me crazy. They earned $500 a week, working all day, 6 days a week. I often found that in 4 hours!

oh my god - It looks like you have detected inside a jewelers store.

Well done - I bet you are still smiling when you think about that gold the locals did not want to pickup.

Very nice haul.

hmm. I think I need to make some new plans for the summer holliday!

WOW

while reading your post, I found myself gazing off into dreamland.
I have never been to Singapore, but now in my mind I have.
thanks for the trip.

So what's the name of your jewelry shop going to be called? "Singapore Sling Treasure Shop?"

Looks like your free time was well spent while you were stationed there! I really think this hobby will ward off post traumatic stress syndrome among our servicemen.

Major Congrats!

Singapore

thanks for all the info on Singapore and the beaches. Now you have me kicking myself

I work for a Biotech Company called Genentech (now part of Roche), and have been to Singapore for work yet never brought my detector! It's amazing to see what you were able to pull off a beach I was on

One thing I noticed is they are really into volleyball there as well, and hitting balls in the sand with jewelery is a recipe for good THing

You know I have some vacation time coming up, and now you might have changed my plans, though I do remember how hot and humid it was there during June and July!

Stephen

Yes, it was hot and humid.. at all times of the year, since Singapore has no seasons except rainy and more rainy. This is why I went out at night, at about 6:30 PM and stayed until 11PM. The weather was cooler, a slight breeze, and the beaches were deserted!

You are going to find hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of gold and gems if there are enough beaches.
