One year in the hobby - 152 silvers and a lot of fun

Very impressive year indeed! Its pretty amazing that you found a virgin site that produced so many old silvers. Stories like this keep me busy doing research in hopes of finding a similar site.

wow...nice testament to dedication and research...and just an all around nice year for you! seeing that pile of trash you dug makes me appreciate the silvers that you found that much more:)

Dave

Great job with all the finds.....can't believe you did so well for your first year. I'm in my second year and tripled my finds from the first year......can we expect you to get 450 silvers next year? Great job once again those are some great spots you have keep it up

Wow Dave, that is aboslutely sick...In a good way:)...I need to see how you research so I can find a honey hole in the woods. We have been in the hobby around the same time and I have found a whopping three silvers and 4 IH's. Im seriously thinking of unloading my AT Pro and Ace350 and gettin the Etrac...

Oh by the way, I wanna see a pic of all 408 wheats too...

that looks like a ton of trash, but in reality i think you are doing very well trash to silver ratio wise. i have dug 8 silvers this year and i think i have more trash than you (3rd 5 gallon pail.) i keep the pail in my truck bed and when i get too full of pockets i dump it in there. pail gets full i put it in the dumpster. you must be much better at id'ing targets than I and possibly be at much better sites.

really you are the md'er i strive to be. WTG!

Great haul!!! Thanks for sharing!!!

Wow!! You must find some great sites to hunt.this is the first good thing i ever saw from our capital area!!;)

That's a lot of great stuff! Hope my first year is remotely close to yours! But like us Cleveland browns fans say " there's always next year" HH and hope you continue the luck!

That is an incredible first year's worth and it's not over yet, big congrats to you!

Great year you have had! I found a lot of silver too but can't seem to find any barber quarters! Oh, Well I guess I need something to find next year. Good luck and finish the year strong! AL

Thanks, Al. I'll tell you what, I'll trade a few of those Barbers for your Morgan!

Wow, great haul. Keep up he good work.

Just wondering, did you weigh the junk:?: lol

Thanks...I didn't weigh the junk. I mentioned I rescued some old shotgun shells, I have yet to try to clean and identify them. Many of them looked pretty far gone and the ground where I dug them is not too kind, so we'll see.

I started out with a X-Terra 305 too and really liked it, but the finds really picked up with the e-trac. That's one heck of a honey hole you have there Dave. I gotta find a spot out in the woods like yours. I'm impressed by all the silver but mostly impressed by the amount of Barber quarters you've found. Good luck this winter at your spot and hope you continue finding some great coins.

Thanks, Dave. I agree that those quarters really make the pile. I found a lot of those and a good proportion of quarters overall, but didn't get too lucky with the half dollars this year.

Top of my wish list are the silver halves (Walker and Franklin) and the elusive seated anything.

Amazing year! Breathtaking really.

As a long-time coin collector though, you guys who throw all your silver coins in a big heap make me bite my nails almost!:(

Thank you...I feel the same way seeing these kinds of pics. I didn't just dump them in a pile, I placed them all really gingerly. I know even that isn't ideal for old coins, but there's only one semi-key there worth anything (1921 merc) and it got special handling.
