..were announced recently. Score and Score More (or plus) They're both multi-frequency detectors with the Score being turn it on and just go while the Score More (or Plus) has features like ground balancing etc. Details on their comparisons to the Legend are not available. It is going through a beta-testing phase now. Both detectors are waterproof to 5 meters I think.

I've always had my eye on the Vanquish 540 and I suspect the Score detectors are Notch's answer to the Minelab Vanquish series. The control box of the Vanquish series are not waterproof but it's a very good detector with minimal fussing needed on wet and dry beaches.

And guess what - I still can't afford one now but still I'll keep an eye out on the Scores. :-)

The Score is MF and the Vanquish line are SMF. As such, it doesn't seem that the Score is Nokta's answer to the Vanquish.

Well, anyway, I'm interested in their new pinpointer with the color screen, Bluetooth, and USB C charging. It also has an option for ferrous discrimination, but that's a feature I wouldn't use. What really interests me, is having a screen that shows the mode, sensitivity level, battery level, etc.

No - the Vanquish IS a multi-frequency detector.

That's not correct.

The Vanquish is SMF (Simultaneous Multi Frequency). That is different than MF (Multi Frequency), which is more accurately called SSF (Selectable Single Frequencies).

Ok, I'll take your word for it
Ok:grin: I should have added that Dilek (Nokta's global rep) said the Score is MF.

I haven't found much other information on the Score, other than one model is more basic than the other. For example, one has a fixed GB, and the other is adjustable GB. I think the basic also has a fixed recovery speed, while the other is adjustable. Given that it's MF, I hope it's maximum SF option is not 15 khz. I would want at least 20 khz, but preferably 40 khz as the max SF. Something like 3, 15, and 40 khz would be perfect.

Hey if Dilek says so, than it must be right! I was going off of an article I saw online, here's the link:

Yeah..I just went on the site (Treasure Hunting World) and it describes them as SMF (Score and Double Score) But you're right on the specs. I'm sure more details will come out over time. There was a live announcement about it and Dilek mentioned that they will be going through a beta testing phase with folks (I think who can buy it for 1/2 price and test it and report back - I used captions so I could be wrong about this)

That's why I suspect the Score and Double Score could be Notch's response to Minelab's vanquish series that did not have waterproof control boxes. Having a waterproof control box is a must for me as I'm deaf-blind and sometimes I drop things and dropping a non-water proof control box...no..please just no. lol

I'm thinking that Treasure Hunting World article is incorrect. I've seen many videos of Dilek saying both MF and SMF when she talks about the various models, and in the new video she says the Score is MF.

Which means that you select the frequencies like Xterra Pro, right? While the Score Double could just roll through all the frequencies for you?

Yes, like the Xterra Pro. But keep in mind that most SMF detectors also let you choose among various single frequencies (The Vanquish does not, and that was a deal breaker for me).

When you say "roll through the frequencies for you", I think you mean a few frequencies are used at the same time. If that's what you mean, then that would be SMF...and the Score models are not SMF.

Oh..I'm confused: "The company has just announced two new simultaneous multi-frequency machines named “SCORE” and “DOUBLE SCORE" It says simultaneous multi-frequency..? Thoughts?

The article you posted was not written by Nokta. Heck, the article even misspells "Accupoint". Both Score models are MF, not SMF.

Oh sheesh, looks like another baseball bat sized pinpointer from Nokta

Nokta's main pinpointers are the Nokta Pointer, the Pulse Dive, and now the Accupoint.

The Nokta Pointer and the Accupoint are the about the same size as every other pinpointer. The Pulse Dive is larger, because it can convert from a regular pinpointer to a diving metal detector with a 5.5" or 8" coil. I suspect the larger size is due to the additional circuitry, and a larger than normal battery to power the coils.

This is the most confusing thread I have ever read on this site SMF is the same as the Legend which means (Simultaneous multi frequency) which according to the Video I watched is what the two new Nokta detectors are going to be one will be called Score and the other will be called Double Score, the Legend, Score and Double Score are all a Multi Frequency detectors or SMF, just like the Vanquish is a Multi frequency detector as well as the Equinox Line 600,700,800 and 900 and Manticore, the Xterra Pro is a SSF which stands for (Selectable Single Frequency) Detector, from my understanding, where in the heck are ya all coming up with this info that all of you have posted in replies.
