"Northeast Electrictronic Archaeologists" - 2016 Spring Meet and Sweep #1 Proposed.

Welcome aboard ECoast!

Sorry to all for the bad link to this I sent yesterday by PM. Not sure what went down with that but I just sent a new one that I tested to everyone (I hope). and If I missed ya sorry. It could possibly happen again. :p

Seriously I just am not the most computer wise dude but I'll keep plugging along.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Unless I hear a request not to, I will be revealing the site next week to give anyone who wants to do some research the time to do so during the winter.

You think the location should be revealed so soon? Just sayin

I think this spot has already been hit by a lot of guys in CT. But still sounds like a great location and it will be nice to meet everyone and finally see the face behind the snoop Dogg avatar

I am on the fence on it. I've been pouring over old maps and docs for a few days and thought other may want to do the same....And I know what you mean 100%.

Kind of waiting for the input from my sources to decide how they would like me to handle it.

Been there hunted that:DI'd definitely be down to camp out for a long weekend and hunt it again:yes:

Terriffic! nice showing on the finds from there.

Any suggestions for where to camp Captain? I am running blind here and would really like to make it a long weekend camping and hunting. I have no clue whats around there for lodgings yet and would certainly enjoy a nice fire.

in fact, Any help on any of this from anyone is what makes these things happen. Speak up if ya have any suggestions that aren't top secret.

This sounds like a great reason to use the brand spanking new tent I just bought from Cabelas!

Reread post 31.

Just did, but didn't need to, I haven't said where yet for that reason. and yours is exactly the kind of concern I will take into consideration. So thanks for speaking up. Anyone with similar or opposing veiws?

It's a balancing act for sure. I figure 50% of people saying they will go will end up there. But it's the lurkers who just pop up there that you can't account for.

Either way its up to everyone to transport, feed, house themselves and ultimately police themselves while acting as ambassadors for our sport. Any group is gonna have it's clowns. But I am not going up to babysit, act as tour guide, or "host an event"

On line here I will try to gather info on a place to go and time. I'll encourage anyone who can offer info we all will need to do so in time for others to make their arrangements. And I'll show up with a plan of staying somewhere, hunting somewhere and meeting up with others doing the same.... Hopefully including a camping BeerBQ. :D

It's not hard to meet to hunt, maybe camp out if we can find a place and just generally have fun.

That's right! Captain and a few of our other regular members have hunted this place.

These are the typical older items that people were recovering last year.

I got out there once in early November with our member BomberJohn.

I failed to get my coil over anything other than some 30 year old clad, but John picked up a Spanish silver from 1751, a very smooth copper and a pewter button.

This is like a once in a life time chance to dig a place like this. How many times are ponds of this character being drained where we can just walk onto them and hunt?

The weirdest part was the soil conditions. I only remember actual mud being near the original river was still flowing. 95% of the surrounding hunting area had this gritty "low tide" looking beach sand. It was super easy to work with and had no ugly smell to it at all. Also, remember that this is only a pond bottom. Just filling in your hole is about all you have to do here. No fancy plug cutting and installation will be required.

I live about 75 miles from this place and it was worth the ride just to see what it looked like. It was like a moonscape!

That new Cabelas that opened in Berlin MA is WAY too close to me for my checking account. ;) It's not a big one as far as cabelas. But free shipping on everything is a big plus. and its got a bargain basement with demos and returns all under warranty. Ahhh a very nice addition to the neighborhood. I nabbed a nice trail cam in that bargain cove this year.

I'd come up day before as well if we can camp...

@Joee5 - if you're 6' or less, the dinette makes up to a berth.
did not realize that was snoop; we might get along well...;)

6' 1" but what's the weight limit :D

Good Morning campers.... I spent some time last PM researching Campgrounds close. There is On very near but closed just that week Ugh.. Next closest I found was 18 miles or so as opposed to the closed one less than a mile outside of town

Still looking for something closer and will be back here when I've dialed it in.

Any suggestions are more than welcome.
