Nori Beach pays off...

You actually named a beach you were at? Sweet finds. It will be hammered before you get back.

That is one big ring. Just noticed where the silver quarter was!!

Well...….he named "a" beach but I wonder if it's "the" beach that huge honker chunk of gold was found...….regardless...….nice score!!!!

If the ring proves to be pre WWII, then it is a natural star ruby, either from Burma or India. After the War linde star sapphire hit the market. Glad it is not a faceted ruby, because those have been in jewelry after 1890, but not announced as man-made until the 1920s! Would have to be sent to the GIA to conform as nautral if faceted. Great find, Royal Congrats!

Wife wanted me to sell it... I told her it fits perfectly where I wear my wedding band... I told her how about I sell that bad luck charm instead... she walked out of the room mouthing something under her breath

:laughing::laughing: Almost fell off the chair reading this. Beautiful ring.....[/QUOTE]

Those Latina's get pissed off at the smallest things  She is even more pissed at me today for something totally different.. when we got home I told her I am going detecting and I did

I brought it with me to the beach so Swinglow could hold it in his hand... he loved it... its so much nicer in natural light than taking a picture... I think Swinglow did very well with his Nox today digging up old stuff.. I left early.

How exciting ! I would be curious on a retail appraisal.

I went to a jeweler and it is what I said it was... I did not request an appraisal as I am keeping the ring.. maybe down the road I will he is going to polish the gold for me as its all scratched up.

love the beach-toasted silver coins. I never get tired of seeing the blackened disks in my basket :)

Might be worthwhile having gia or similar take a look at it. On Ebay the price ranges from $5 to 1000s

I'm probably not going to sell it Steve.. I have been blessed with the amount of gold I have found over the years my safety deposit box doesn't need this one... this one is for wearing although I feel it when I wear it.. not used to that weight on my finger :D

I have another jeweler I may take it to just to get it polished..

My wife wanted me to sell it... I told her take your engagement ring and sell that... she mumbled something ;)
