Nokta makro smf live launch!

Hi Trashfinder....
I see you are from Ardmore, OK. Been there when i visited Madill, not too far away.
That's my last name and i visited there back in the 1980s. Ardmore was the nearest town big enough to have a sporting goods store where i could buy a gym bag and cap touting the Madill Wildcats.

I think there is a lot of history in that area, what are you usually looking for?

If I was still working I would probably pre-order one, but as it is, I'll wait until the user field reports & videos start coming in to make up my mind.

I’m interested in seeing some real world reviews once they ship.

Me too. I will wait until some of the forum members here share their experiences with us. There are quite a few ytubers who do reviews that are already on the waiting list for one.

I do not have much knowledge of what Turkey is like as far as clothing and customs. Some of the people on the N/M presentation seemed a lot more Russian or Eastern European than Turkish. Does N/M have some Eastern Bloc backers or partners?

I spoke with a Nokta Makro rep and was told the headphone adapter cable for the Simplex also will work on the new Legend model.
Excited to get this unit in my hands

Im getting one, from what i seen out of the last two machines ive owned from nm this one will probably be pretty good

My specialty-use Nokta FORS CoRe and FORS Relic have held their places since Jan. '15 and Jan. '16 and are very proven Relic Hunting detectors, mainly with their smaller coils I keep mounted full-time.

The Impact is a very versatile multi-purpose land-based detector, since I am not a water hunter full-time. My Simplex +, however is a waterproof unit that does work for me for what freshwater hunting I do, and I keep the 5X9.5 DD mounted full-time for most of the sites I grab it.

The new Legend is going to mske a great addition from a company I have trusted to produce solid-built, top performing detectors.

Madill not to far away like 22 miles. I like to dig coins and really anything from the past that is non ferrous.

Monte, considering your history with the Nokta lineup, I am looking forward to your evaluation of The Legend. I hope you share your experiences as you work with it.

More than pleased to do so. Since my FORS CoRe arrived on Jan. 8th of '15, I have been very impressed with build quality as we as impressive perfmance.

I will gladly share my experiences, be them good or bad, with the Legend.

I've been to Turkey and have some friends of Turkish extraction, now American citizens. They are from Istanbul (or perhaps Constantinople :chaplin:). At any rate, they are good folks.

Turkey is a beautiful country with wonderful archaeology. They have what may be the oldest town on Earth there, Çatalhöyük. It isn't far from Konya, seat of the "whirling dervish" Muslim sect. It wouldn't surprise me to learn of older arch sites being found in the area. We also hitchhiked into ancient Troy (The chariots, er, busses weren't running into that area off the highway at that time.).

Turkey is a Muslim country. The West and North parts of Turkey are cosmopolitan and generally enjoy and prefer Western culture. The East and South are more fundamentalist. Historically, there was a lot of interaction between Turkey, the Balkans and Southern Russia, characteristically, military. A large number of slaves were taken by the Ottoman Turks, so there is a fair amount of Russian bloodline to be found there. For instance, Roxelana (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurrem_Sultan), described as a stunning redhead and a favorite of Sultan Suleiyman the Magnificent, was of Ruthenian Russian extraction.

I watched the reveal and have some doubts. First I have never dug a bottle cap with my Equinox (EVER). Also the iron feature is nice but I can tell you from experience if people pass over targets like she showed the bottle cap being part iron part non ferrous, you will be missing good targets most likely. My record so far is 6 nails in a plug with a wheat penny with the NOX. And if I had of paid attention to the iron on that and other targets I would never have dug it. But with my settings, if I get a high tone, and it does not have to be constantly repeatable , I always recover a target of some kind that is non ferrous.

They never went into any kind of detail on how their multi freq analyzes targets and makes a determination of the signal. All we know is that it uses multi frequencies. One of the main reasons I use the NOX is my CTX and Etrac and other machines cannot come even close to the depth I get from the NOX. She stated that depth is not everything and that it has a very solid ID. I know to a lot of people ID is king and they base everything on it. When you get 40 plus years of detecting experience you have learned that at least on ever machine made so far which includes all the minelabs that sound is king if you want to find the targets everyone misses.

I hope that the machine has incredible potential but with no experience with multi freq and what was said in the reveal I am taking a wait and see stance. Minelab has over a decade of experience on Nokta with multi freq and that has to account for something. Look at the Garrett foray into Multi with the Apex, yes it made beach hunting acceptable but on land, it comes nowhere near an Equinox for target separation and depth.

I hope it turns out to be an incredible machine and worst case if it does not it will probably be a decent detector for the price they have stated.

We found the 1st man to ever metal detect WITH A NOX and NEVER dig a bottle cap EVER

How do you like the IDs on the nox 6 inch? Get any pulltabs that hit 30? Or higher,,lolll

Oh man....your killing me ! 🤣🤣🤣. Ok.... your name is Trashfinder. And yet you have NEVER , EVER dug a bottlecap with the Nox. Then , to top it off...in the next sentence , you say it's a mistake to pass up bottlecap type sounds because you could be passing up good targets. So which is it ? 😂😂😂. 40 years huh ? 🤣. And at least 3 of those are missing good targets 😂I actually do have 40+ years , mainly on salt beaches. Sorry bro , you can't be a Trashfinder if you don't dig the caps ( and missing gold). Your killing me smalls !!!

Im still laughing at that post....seriously..im still laughing

I would have hoped the VDI numbers would match up to the Simplex+. The Vanquish and Equinox displays and numbers are very much alike. I would think this would make an upgrade easier to learn.

the numbers are totally different between the Simplex+ and the Legend. But i do like the look of it.

I have had the Simplex+ for 8 months and have become pretty well acquainted with it. I just bought an Equinox 600 and it is going to take some time getting used to it. I wonder if the transition to the Legend would be easier.

Your gonna HATE the 6 inch nox coil..if you are an ID guy...ive been diggjng lotsa pulltabs lately hitting 30...loloo me and pumptech (member) been talkig about this issue alot...the id numbers are PATHETIC

No doubt nokta/ makro will be a success, every machine they've come out with is great.

At the price of that makro , if minelab was smart they would update the 600 for all the frequencies that the 800 has 20 and ...40khz etc.(gold nugget ) I know they couldnt give all the user save setting the 800 has..but giving the 600 all the frequencies of the 800 would keep it competitive with this nokta

I totally agree. Been much speculation about the 600 having 20 and 40 khz in multi,,but I see the graph and it's not there.

Ive been told its exaclty the same in multi as the 800...
I cant imagine that would be worth lying for ...probably would cost them more mo ey to come up with software for the 600 that wasnt the same

You have a bad coil, or bad software! That just does not happen to me. Seriously! Contact Minelab or try a hard reset or something,, your machine is broke.

Laugh all you want ,,, it is a fact! If you are digging bottle caps with FBS or Multi IQ it is because you have them disc in or your machine is broken. Been hunting with explorers , etrac, ctx, nox , safari,,, for years and never dug one yet.
