New Minelab Equinox

Sorry but if it comes down to it I'll take the Equinox over the Gen5 G19. I'll just get the Gen5 G19 later LOL.

But the Gen 5 doesn’t have finger grooves lol

I’m waiting for a Gen 5 RTF2 lol

A separate module?

Looks promising. I want to see some videos and head to head comparisons though. Up to now, I didn't want to buy another detector as I was firmly satisfied with my etrac. I am looking for a water machine anyway, so even if it turns out it isnt quite as good at finding silver as the etrac, I will most likely get one if it is as good as advertised. I hope it has the FE CO numbers, but it doesn't look like it.

If I have read correctly.
The 800 model, can be configured 3 different ways for headphones.

Plug into detector. ( I haven't seen anyone mention this as far as 800 model.)
Plug headphones into module ( not true wireless)
And then the blue tooth wireless ( true wireles)

The thing you posted is I don't think correct or is misleading.

Based on video.

That’s what I thought. You would think that the 600 would be the same since it’s the same head unit (minus higher freq).

So you can use your own headphones and not be tethered to the detector, like the Z-Lynk?

That’s how I understand that option to be. Not a fan of it personally, but hope Minelab at least redesigned the module to be small and sleek. Their older (current?) module is Frankenstein huge, almost like a small Walkman.

With 800 model,,seems you get a little box (much like you get with Minelb CTX) to plug your headphones/earbuds of choice into.
Only thing is this little module unlike CTX module,,doesn't have a speaker,,hence lighter.
So yes even like this,,no being tethered to detector.
And using this module is also faster as far as less lag vs the supplied blue tooth wireless headphones.

Alright, one more time for clarity.

Headphones:
600 - wired included.
800 - wireless module and wireless headphones included?

I think the 600 does have the option for wireless, just not included (wireless headset) since the price is $250 cheaper. Along with the 20 and 40kHz options.

Whole thing seems kinda odd, I wonder if the 600's would be upgradable to an 800 just by firmware if the user would like to purchase?

Unless the dude in video above provided false info.

I am assuming 800 model has a headphone jack.
Haven't seen it mentioned though.

Minelab since you are watching, you have to fix this. Hardwire a short waterproof connector from the head unit through to the base of the handle at least...or redesign the shaft so the head unit sits like it would on a MARS shaft (ie like a Deus) that way you can maintain the same connection point and not have that mess in the picture below.

You spent all this time designing this detector. The fit and finish of this just looks like an afterthought.

I agree

Where is the battery?
Isn't it in the handle.
Might be a little crowded in the handle part.
Besides I think they were thinking about the waterproofing with their design.
KISS principle employed.

I can see the standoff in design,,,keeps the cable out of hands way when grasping handle.

Just make sure you run it through your strap, before the amp, so you don't step on it and break it off..

If they can figure out how to combine single and simultaneous multi-freq through the same coil, they can design a handle to accommodate a small extension, and make it look good I’m sure. The other option would be to go with a MARS like shaft and keep the existing connection.
