My thoughts on the Minelab Manticore

I still don't get this thing they say is separation which everybody is saying is happening all vlf work the same fast or slow . The only separation comes from using different coil sizes physical separation if you do not get 2 tones from 2 targets then they are as one not separated .

Fast or slow if you sweep 2 targets like a pull-tab and a dime left to right you will hear and see the tabs ID first and tone then the dime , then right to left you will ID the dime first and tone then the tab .
Now when you pinpoint if there both under the coil it will be the ID of both .

The reason you see a ID of both sweeping is because the coil is only physically on one target and not the other , the edge of the coil coming off the 2 targets or coming on the 2 targets will show ID of that target only physically separating them .If you only get 1 tone and ID they cannot be separated .

Speed has nothing to do with it coil speed is what separates and coil size . I should of said to much speed with a slow detector will miss compared to a faster detector.
There all vlf detectors and work the same but we do have the ability to tune them to our ground .sube

Another video for you I did Digalicious. Two vidoes actually. One showing situation where neither Manticore or Deus 2 yield iron tone yet nail is present- ID of silver dime is skewed though. Trace on Manticore is showing something not exactly right warning user.

As far as the poster here making comments about 1 tone on colocated targets.
Can a vlf detector offer any tonal nuance exposing possibility of colocated targets? Hmm
The video I did and post does show Deus 2 especially can do. And even give clue to target elongated (not coin or button shaped) generally.

Read again as far as 1 tone stack a pull tab on a dime tell me how many tones you will get , this is where you get one tone no separation to close to separate . Only 1 ID and 1 tone the other scenario where you can get 2 tones and 2 IDS not the same but if you pinpoint you will only get 1 ID because the coil sees both if there was more space between then you could get separate IDS (another words physical separation ) . sube
