Carbon fiber or aluminum? Anderson or Rod's by Plugger?
It's the stock Sovereign shaft.
Than I went to the goodwill store and bought a pair of crutches for $2.
I cut out a length of aluminum tubing about 20 inches long where there is a slight curve in the crutch. This tubing inserts perfectly inside the stock shaft
and I secured it with the armrest bolt.
About 12 inches of the tube sticks out behind the elbow and I drilled out the rivets of the box holder clamp under the armrest and relocated it to the end of the new tube. I like it with the curved end supporting the box. Good angle.
I estimated the length of the tube I needed based on the weight of the WOT coil to find the perfect counterweight balance point at the hand grip.
I use a Detector Pro swing buddy connected at the handle and I can make big wide flat swings effortlessly.
This make sense?
And I thought my advice was the best of them all. I tried to help!
Congrats and I hope we see lots of wonderful treasure from you with your new heater!
One day I would love to hunt side by side with OBN and see if I am really missing anything. I really could be. You guys with the Excal get some wonderful finds. They just look too ugly, long and noisy to dive with in my opinion.
I have hunted side by side with an Excal in fresh water and he couldn't get his coil over a find I couldn't hear and I couldn't get my coil over a find he couldn't hear. I agree they are a great working detector.
Found the old pics when I did it.
Freshwater sure makes it easy on detectors. Now when you come visit us folks in FL, then it will be a whole other ball game. No worries though, I have a PI you can borrown when your done cussing and throwing your ATP around. lol....I have hunted side by side with an Excal in fresh water and he couldn't get his coil over a find I couldn't hear and I couldn't get my coil over a find he couldn't hear.
