I live in Shoreview. I go detecting all the time. I have been averaging around 400 clad coins per month. I find a fair amount of jewelery too. If anyone wants to go sometime here let me know.
Also, there is an organized treasure hunt this Saturday in North Branch. If you are unfamiliar with the metel detecting group here, their name is Gopher State Treasure Hunters. They meet once a month. About 50 people show up on a regular basis.

Help with Lost Wedding Ring?
Hi, Everyone!
My presence here today is an act of shear desperation as my husband lost his wedding ring (17 years, thanks for asking
in Green Bay, Wisconsin last weekend. "Green Bay" as in "water" not "city" Bummer!
Well, we had the presence of mind to mark the way-point on the GPS on the boat and are just dying to get back out there and retrieve that ring. It's about 8 feet deep and great visibility but the bottom is dotted with clumps of grass that are about 6 - 12 inches high. We're guessing it landed in one of those which makes it the proverbial needle in the haystack.
So, my question - anyone know someone in Wisconsin/Minnesota/Michigan who would like to go on a treasure hunt this weekend? We have NO detecting equipment, but would be THRILLED to pay a nice reward for retrieving the ring. OR does anyone have an underwater capable detector they would be willing to rent to us for the weekend? We could leave you some sort of deposit so that if we break it you're covered...
ANY help or advice at this point is greatly appreciated. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

hey i know an old beach at centerville lake by the way you might want to wear blazed orange it's hunting season lol

I have major roots in the area and strong ties to the community and I am looking forward to a very successful rookie year of detecting. if anyone would be interested in hunting you can contact me private message on here and we will see how things go. On one of my farms i have a site of a 1850's school house that would be fun to hunt. Like I said I am a rookie but ex military and tons of patients 33 year old male. I bought a ace 250 garrett which i heard nothing but good things about and I am hitting up some old farm sites as soon as the ice melts. stay tuned for youtube videos and pictures. hi to fellow Minnesotans I'm new to this site.I live in southern Minnesota.
I bought a Garrett GTI 1500 last year and it still new to me.
Like to find someone to hunt with that has the same machine to give me pointers on using it.I don't drive so they will have to come here.

Moved East a bit
I've since moved a bit east since last time I was on here. I now live in Waconia area and about 15 minutes closer then NYA. Still in Carver County though and still west by southwest.

This is a very old thread!!! But I would certainly be interested in meeting a new friend or two with mutual interest in the metal detecting hobby. I live in Eden Prairie area in SW twin cities surburbs and don't mind traveling a little bit---give me a shout if you're interested in meeting and hunting with someone new.
