Update to my last post where I stated I had yet to find one......
Recovered this one this summer about 10 feet down from the James River while diving. It's pretty awesome to look back on this thread from a few months ago when I originally posted, and remembering the feeling when I pulled out my very first plate from the river mud.
Its a particularly rare US box plate with brass hooks on the back. Most hooks are made of iron. This has been identified as a .69 caliber ammo box plate used by Ohio troops during the war.
