Massachusetts members?

I'm from Rochester, NH. I have been thinking about doing some detecting in MA but not really sure where to go. Anyone want to get together some day, I'm game.

Hi, I'm a newbie in Western Ma. Longmeadow to be exact. I just got myself a nice crappy beginer detector and I'd like to meet some locals. I've got a few sites I'd like to talk about, just to see if they are worth trying out.

Pete in Ma.

Pete, check out the old farm fields along the CT River bank in Longmeadow. That whole area has been farmed and settled since the late 1600's. I also think there was an old ferry crossing to Agawam around there

Only one or two rural side roads lead to them since they cut off most access when building I-91 in the 60's, so chances are they haven't been hunted much.

Roger,

I live in Michigan, now, but I grew up in Massachusetts and spent 39 years there!!! All of my family are still there. They live in Spencer and Webster. I moved out to Mich. 5 years ago for a job transfer (with my 2 teenage children). I sure do miss New England!!! Maybe some day I’ll be able to move back there.

Tom

Hey kestrel0222 I grew up in Spencer and live in Webster now! Small world. I also worked in Michigan off and on for ten years. happy Holidays. Cladius.

Try looking into Yankee territory Coinshooters club here in CT. Not far from you and we are always welcoming new members. Give me ahollar (email that is or phone call )and I'll get you the info. Our next meeting is January 9th. 8)

I just ordered my first metal detector on Tuesday morning, from Tony of course. I'm on the south shore in Hanson MA and I'd be up for group hunt. Maybe someone can show me how to use that thing. Can't wait to get my Tesoro Cibola !!! Hopefully it will be here for the good weather this weekend :D Is it on it's way yet Tony ?

Thanks
Bill M

Went out today Bill  May even get it tomorrow. 8)
thanks for your business.

Mike from Tewksbury Ma.
Just moved up here from Winthrop beach. I know I'm going to regret it in the summer.
Nahant and Lynn Shore Drive on the Swampscott border are ideal. Ecspecially after a good high tide or a noreaster. Got my first diamond ring right across the street from Kellys roast beef last summer.

Well the probe showed up Saturday but still no sign of the tector :( Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Well I got the Cibola on Friday so I decided to take a long lunch :D , I work from home when I need too, and was shocked by how much junk lived in my lawn !!!!! I found a 20 year old dog tag, part of a distributer cap and a few newer coins plus LOTS of scrap aluminum from when the trim was done on the house back in 1990. I need some practice with pinpointing, digging 6 inch plugs now, but so far I am really impressed with how well this thing works  Thanks Tony !!!!!
