Makro Racer availability?

Sure sounds like the AT Pro to me!

After using detectors like the F75 and Etrac, you really start to notice the goodies you miss with the AT Pro.. It fills a niche at the price point it comes in at, but really can't hang with the upper tier detectors.

Agreed! But then I wouldn't expect a detector in that price range to hang with the top tier anyway. I don't expect the Racer will either. For one it doesn't have near the top tier options such as the ability to discriminate at a single segment level not notch. The Deus kind of lacks in this area but it does have 3 notches so you can do some nice specialized discrimination.

1/2 my detecting time is spent in rivers, streams and fresh water swimming holes; if it was water proof I'd be interested but I see its not.

Sorry but I find it funny that people are waiting to hear a dealers opinion on the machine.

What do you think they'll say? Think that they will say anything negative about it? Or do you think tbey're ready to make a dollar off whoever wants one?

Or... they are a reputable dealer and are putting an evaluation unit through its paces with the ability to compare it to the many other detectors they sell, before they commit to any purchase orders. In other words, if they are reputable, and find out the detector has serious issues, they might decide not to carry it. I'm thinking Bart probably runs his business that way.

That's just my opinion.

When the units get into the field, don't be surprised to hear some of the following.....jawdropping....unbelievable......sur prised....hunted here before hard....simple to operate.....wow....buying another for my.....selling my.......

Well I'm hoping so, but, I've seen the same thing said about every new machine to hit the market. Some have lived up to the hype, to some degree, but most end up being just another detector in the bunch.

as far as customs its a !!!! shoot. i order from canada a lot. sometimes its a few hours to pass customs sometimes its a week or longer.

I can only speak from my own experience but last winter I had a bad case of cabin fever and 2 AT Pros, I wanted to sell one and find another unit in the same price range. When I talked to Bart about this he flat out told me that for the money I already had the best unit in that price range and did not think I would be happy with any of the other choices I was looking into.
He could have easily sold me another detector but he knew it really would not make me any happier. Speaks volumes about his honesty if you ask me.

Glad you brought this up!

Lets just say I give any machine or product glowing reviews and boast all over the forums on how great this or that is. Then you get it and realize its not what I said it was. Do you think I would expect you as a customer to come back to me the next time you want something?

And thanks Choppa, You just made my point.

We will be doing a short review of it very soon. Not had time to go over the whole machine yet and truly get a feel for it due to weather but we do want to get some info out.

See you all soon.

I value their opinions, but I also know when talking to a car salesman that his ultimate goal is to sell me something. All I'm saying

Also, let it be known, I've purchased more than a couple of things from Bart in the past, and have always been satisfied with each purchase.

No disrespect to other sponsors here, but Bart being an avid detectorist himself, is a very good thing. He's used many detectors I think. He has a feel for them so to speak. I look forward to his and other sponsors' reviews of all detectors in the future no matter the model or brand.

Bart, Just get that sucker on a UPS truck to the NectarDetector (he has the weather in his favor) and let it be reviewed. Then we would have one of our own (Big Boys with a toy). :wow::wow::wow::wow::wow::wow::wow::wow:

Detector Atpro/ racer

The ATPro is in a difference class all together, its water proof up to 10 Foot in fresh water, No comparison when the machine is submergible, comparison should be made with Non waterproof land detectors, the only other Land- 10 foot water machine is the CTX3030 with a high price tag, this is why the ATpro land submergible to 10 fresh water machine has done well, even Tesoro has not made a land - water machine, it Land or water, looking forward to see video comparison, wish you all the best with the machine, Earl

I think Makro is targeting the AT Pro market with the Racer myself. The AT Pro was a home run for Garrett. I haven't heard all that much about the F-19.

This was my original thought also, even the Impact looked that way. I made several charts with specs to find a parallel and the F-19 came out the winner. That freq. business is probably what made me slide that way. The Fisher is probably more refined and lacks the crudeness found in the racer specs. Price was also very close.

I am very tempted to buy one of these when available to just test head to head with my AT Pro. I guess that is the only way to really know if it is better or not. You can read all the reviews you want and then make a determination based on the credibility of the source but opinions will always differ from one person to the next.
When I hear enough to peak my curiosity and after the initial production lots are sold and demand has been met, then I will pick one up.

So true.....choppadude. Remember the movie Road House? The line in the movie that sticks with me is when, Patrick Swayze responds with "opinions vary".
