Kellyco posts, good or bad?

They cant force you to keep a detector it sounds like there are more underlying circumstances that your not telling about. sounds like your playing on one side and bashing the others just my opinion...[/QUOTE]

I felt like I was being force Because when I trying to return it I was told I could only get 70% my money back and 80% credit if I wanted to buy another detector from them. Why should I take the lost of the money for someone else mistake.
The first time I shop with bigboys hobbies He gave me a discount on a Fisher F2 and without telling me he surprise me with a 10inch coil and a fisher bag. Thats why I love that company. And I want people to know it. No one has ever done that for me. Gave me almost half of what I spent for free without asking. And also I have never heard any complains about. Nothing at all. He always answers his phone too.

Very well said, Chris -- but it's more than PR. If in the whole makeup of things, if you owned a company and really wanted to wade into a hobby-forum pool (where there often are nothing but hardcore people), wouldn't you want your most hardcore employees (who I'm guessing joined your company because they love your hobby) wading into the forums for your hobby -- engaging those people in the forums and such -- in the deep end rather than just some customer service rep saying, "Glad to help with your order." And in the meantime -- and even more -- being a visible daily presence in those forums that will -- by virtue of that participation -- quickly and consistently build a very tidy sales stream?

So this is my whole thought behind why I started this silly thread in the first place. It's not the idea that Kellyco -- especially being a sponsor-- is here, with their people just posting "hellos" 3-4 times a day. I am NOT by any way shape or form suggesting they're abusing the forum or anything. I'm just mystified why a company with a bazillion dollars and their recognition is only doing that -- and if that's all they're doing, is that necessarily a good thing?

I'm starting to wonder why I even brought it up for general discussion in the first place. Yikes.

Why hasen't anyone from Kellyco replied? I'd like to hear their .02 on this. I didn't have any problems with my purchase from them at all but it would be nice to see what they had to say.

You didn't break any rules or hurt anyone's feelings about it.....They are Forum sponsors and are just having some of their newer, and older employees join up on here lately......It's just marketing....No big deal.......Your just lookin' for a lil' more actual detector use related posts...Understood....

I actually sent a msg to one of the Kellyco people who have posted here who seemed to be more than just a sales rep to see if she or the company was interested in opening a constructive dialog that might be useful not only to the company in relation to being an awesome resource to people in the forums like us, but also really useful to the newbies who come here for help and need *real* constructive assistance. Assistance that will not just get them the best product(s) for their money, but go a long way to make that company the first place they call when they need something, or need to know something and need some guidance to -- again -- get them the best product(s) for their money for the places and dirt they hunt the most.

We'll see if anything happens.

After reading all your posts and viewing your (lack) of finds, seems as though you are venting your frustrations on a company that has nothing to do with any lack of success.......

Spend more time digging and less time whining.......

Come on now guys, remember this IS the Friendly Forum!! Let's all play nice in this big 'ol sandbox!

I bought my very first detector from Kellyco on March 23, 2011. It was a Bounty Hunter 505. After receiving it, and using it for 1 hour, I realized the BH was not what I wanted and returned it. I was charged some $40 for the privilege of returning it, and buying another machine. The very day I took the machine to UPS, I purchased, from Kellyco, a Minelab SE Pro and a 10 x 12 SEF coil. The new order was $1,468.90. They would not budge on the restocking fee. Granted, I was fully aware of this policy, but to me, the $40 should have been waved when a customer is placing a $1,468.90 order. It is that same $40 as to why I did not purchase my Excalibur II from Kellyco, that I use at the beach here in Southern California.

I fully understand that Kellyco is in business to make money. If they don't sell product, they will not be able to open their doors and conduct business. But there comes a time, in my opinion, when customer service policies are not carved in stone.

I purchased my SE Pro from Leilani, and she was very professional at the point of sale. But don't ask her to waive a customer service policy, because it will not happen. It cost them the sale of an Excal II. Chris

I just had a hassle free transaction with KellyCo that was well below the web site marked price and although the deal was negotiated bare bones the extras were thrown in anyway. I didn't have to go after them for order status or why is my stuff not here crap like I read about some of the other dealers. Seems to me they are a little more active on trying to improve customer relations like the other dealers should be doing.

Same here just bought an E-Trac and a Pro pointer way below listed price
and they threw in some free stuff the free stuff isnt that good but they didnt have to do it at all
I cant complain about this last purchase from them at all

but as has been said several times they should do more on here than just
posting call me for a super deal

When I think of this thread, I think of the consensus that was taken by Kellyco to return Tesoro to the lineup. Now it may have been ALREADY planned and the poll merely a coverup, but I was pleased they participated this way with the forum members. I like the participation and enjoy it more than the "my detector won't work, it's a fluke", or "what detector should I upgrade to", etc.

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, BLAH.....who cares if kellyco never offered me a tip...not me..who cares if kellyco never congratulated me on one of my finds ..not me...who cares if they're on the forum or not on the forum.... Who really cares?? I have better things to do than worry about a company and what they do and what they don't do. Who cares?
I don't get the point :?: All I care is I go out hunting and hope to find good stuff...kellyco or no kellyco ..whites or no whites....fisher or no fisher....who gives a crap....end of story! :p

Wow what a thread. Having read over 75% of it, yes some of the posts I scanned trying to get through it. I can say I see absolutely no reason for the Kellyco gang not to be here. I see no reason for anyone to be accosted for being here. If it's to seel a machine to a member at a discounted price(thank you sponsors) or if it's simply to say hello and make you smile. Everyone has a right to be here and participate or not participate to their own liking.

I for one bought my very first Fisher 1225x back in..Hmm..memory failing..late 80's early 90's and recall it being fast and courious as well as priced in my range. This year when i got bitten by the MD bug again I looked around and went right back to kellyco for a new Fisher machine. I was very happy with the turn around and felt the price was fair. I have also placed orders with Andrew and NED as well. I am sure myself like most has a hobby budget you have to maintain so we have to shop any item we want. We look at Bigboys and NEd and kellyco and others and we end up where we feel we can get the best service and the best price. This will not change bacause of a rant on this great forum about a sponsor and their involvement or percieved lack of involvement. We all make posts that aren't chock full of advice but sometimes simply to welcome a new member or to share an experience.

Unless there is a rule put that every post needs to have something helpful in it for the group then I say post your hellos and your comments and have fun sharing this hobby we all love.

Anyway..Thank you to all the sponsors who help to keep this forum going and allowing all of us to go on and on about what we think and feel about our hobby. right. wrong. or indifferent.

Now get out there and dig some dirt!

happy hunting!

:D
